FOLSOM-Blues aficionados are in for a treat this weekend as AC Myles takes center stage at Folsom’s renowned Powerhouse Pub for its Sunday afternoon event dubbed the “Powerhouse of Blues.”
Stylistically akin to modern-day blues icons such as Joe Walsh, Johnny Winter, Elvin Bishop, and Rory Gallagher, Myles brings a wealth of musical prowess to the stage, as detailed in his robust music biography. With albums including “Transitory,” “With These Blues,” “Rush to Red,” and “Reconsider Me,” Myles showcases his evolution as a musician.
Known for his confident delivery, Myles captivates audiences with his remarkable vocal phrasing, tone, and formidable guitar skills. He’s hailed as an artist whose performances linger in the memory of blues enthusiasts long after the show ends.
Raised in the Central California migrant worker neighborhoods, Myles, the sole son of production workers, embarked on his musical journey in his late teens and twenties, touring extensively with his band. Venturing to the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, he honed his craft as a sideman for various acts before embarking on national and international tours.
Myles’ repertoire encompasses a blend of originals and well-chosen covers, spanning from the traditional electric blues of the 1960s and 1970s to southern rock and soul. His live shows are characterized by a blend of humor and exceptional musicianship, solidifying his reputation as an authentic talent.
The Sunday show kicks off at 3 p.m. Tickets for the Powerhouse of Blues event are priced at $10 and are available for purchase online at www.powerhousepub.com or at the door on Sunday.
In addition to Myles’ performance on Sunday, Powerhouse will feature the high-energy band Sugar High on Friday night, followed by The Mere Mortals for Saturday afternoon’s dance party. Later on Saturday night, Adam Aldama’s Birthday Bash will take the stage. For complete schedules and ticket information for all events, visit www.powerhousepub.com.
