Regional favorite brings throwback hip-hop, R&B, pop and dance favorites to Zittel Family Amphitheater for Thursday’s summer finale
One final Thursday night of live music is on tap in Historic Folsom this week as Adam Aldama & The Aces take the stage at the Zittel Family Amphitheater, bringing the 2026 Twilight Concert Series to a close after 13 weeks of free summer entertainment.
The Sacramento-area five-piece will close out the season from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. with a wide-ranging mix of throwback hip-hop and R&B, pop, old-school favorites and Top 40 hits. It’s a fitting finale for a series that has moved through an equally broad spectrum of music since getting underway in June, bringing a different regional act to Historic Folsom each Thursday night.
Presented by Bernau Development Corporation in partnership with the Folsom Historic District Association, the Twilight Concert Series has once again filled Thursday evenings in the Historic District with live music throughout the summer. This week’s performance marks the final installment of the 2026 series, with regional favorite Adam Aldama returning to the stage with a band built around familiar music, dancing and audience interaction.
Formed in March 2021 by frontman Adam Aldama, The Aces have quickly become a familiar name across the Sacramento-area entertainment scene. The group made its debut at Mango’s Nightclub in Sacramento and has since performed throughout the region and beyond at clubs, festivals, private events and community celebrations.
Versatility has become one of the band’s calling cards. Rather than building its performances around a single genre or decade, Adam Aldama & The Aces move through a broad catalog of recognizable songs, allowing throwback hip-hop and R&B to give way to pop, old-school dance favorites and current and recent Top 40 hits throughout the evening.
That variety should be especially familiar to those who have followed Aldama’s many musical projects around the Sacramento region.
In addition to The Aces, Aldama has developed a collection of themed productions that showcase his ability to move between artists, eras and musical styles. Those include The Red Corvettes, a tribute to Prince; Finesse, featuring the music of Bruno Mars; 2Bad, celebrating Michael Jackson; Y2K Live, centered on the hits of the 2000s; and Night Fever, which turns the clock back to the disco era.
Those projects span funk, R&B, pop, disco and dance music, many of the same influences that find their way into an Adam Aldama & The Aces performance. Rather than recreating one particular artist, The Aces bring those influences together in a single show built around songs audiences recognize across several generations.
Joining Aldama on vocals is vocalist Veronica Ballejos, with Brett Sackett on lead guitar, Keywan Ryland on drums and Jimmy O’Shea on bass. Together, the five musicians have developed a performance style centered on strong vocals, dance-driven music and crowd interaction.
Thursday’s finale follows last week’s appearance by Daze on the Green, the veteran Northern California band whose history includes opening for former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, performing for the San Francisco 49ers and serving as the official band of the San Jose Sharks.
The closing night also puts the finishing touch on a summer that has brought an assortment of musical styles to the Zittel Family Amphitheater. The 2026 lineup opened with CCsegerR and continued with Sugar High Band, Invisible Son, Wayward Buffalo, Steelin’ Dan, the Lyric Michelle Band, Hipper Than Hip, AKAlive, The LVVS, Dunsbar Road, The Wayside and Daze on the Green before this week’s finale with Adam Aldama & The Aces.
Over the course of the season, audiences have heard everything from classic rock, country and Americana to funk, soul, New Wave, R&B and contemporary hits, with the weekly concerts bringing residents and visitors into the Historic District each Thursday.
For those who have made the Twilight Concert Series part of their summer routine, Thursday represents the final opportunity this year to gather at the amphitheater for the free weekly series. Concertgoers can arrive early for dinner, drinks or shopping along Sutter Street and throughout Historic Folsom before heading to the venue for the 7:30 p.m. start.
