Regional leadership, economic outlook and the future of Sacramento County will take center stage in Folsom next month as the “State of the County” event arrives in the city, hosted by Choose Folsom and featuring Sacramento County District 4 Supervisor and Board Chair Rosario Rodriguez.
The event is scheduled for April 15 at 11 a.m. at Lakeside Church, located at 745 Oak Avenue Parkway, where business leaders, elected officials and community stakeholders from across the region are expected to gather for one of the area’s premier civic and business forums.
Revived after a lengthy hiatus, the State of the County address returns as a renewed platform to provide a comprehensive look at the direction of Sacramento County, offering insight into policy priorities, economic conditions and long-term planning efforts that shape communities like Folsom and its surrounding areas. This year’s address carries added significance as Rodriguez, now serving as chair of the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, delivers her perspective on regional challenges and opportunities during a time of continued growth and evolving infrastructure needs.
“This marks the first State of the County event hosted in many years, and Choose Folsom is pleased to bring forward this opportunity for our regional partners,” said Choose Folsom CEO Joe Gagliardi.
“This special gathering brings together elected officials, business leaders, and community partners for an inside look at the future of our county,” Gagliardi said. “Attendees will hear directly from Sacramento County Supervisor and Chair of the Board, Rosario Rodriguez, who will share exclusive insights into the County’s strategic vision, key initiatives, and the policies driving growth and innovation across our communities.”
Gagliardi added that the event will provide a broad overview of the region’s direction and priorities. “From economic development and infrastructure to quality of life and regional collaboration, this event will provide a comprehensive perspective on the opportunities and challenges shaping Sacramento County—and how we can work together to move our region forward.”
Attendees will hear directly from Rodriguez as she outlines the county’s strategic vision, including key initiatives tied to economic development, public safety, housing, transportation and regional collaboration. The event is expected to highlight how county-level decisions intersect with local communities, including Folsom’s continued expansion and its role within the broader Sacramento region.
“I’ve been looking forward to bringing back the State of the County because it’s important we tell our story and highlight the real work happening every day across healthcare, homelessness, infrastructure, and economic development,” Rodriguez said.
Her remarks will touch on a wide range of county efforts, particularly those aimed at improving core services and addressing some of the region’s most pressing needs. “From expanding behavioral health treatment and housing options, to investing in roads, improving public safety coordination, and supporting local businesses, there is meaningful progress happening across this county,” she said.
Rodriguez also emphasized the importance of public awareness and accountability as part of the county’s ongoing work. “This is about transparency and accountability, but also about making sure residents truly see and feel the results in their daily lives and understand how their county is working for them.”
According to Rodriguez and Choose Folsom, the event is intended to foster meaningful dialogue between the public and private sectors, bringing together leaders from government, business and nonprofit organizations for a shared conversation about the county’s future. In addition to policy updates, the forum is expected to emphasize collaboration and innovation, with a focus on how communities can work together to address pressing issues and build long-term resilience.
Choose Folsom, which serves as the city’s chamber of commerce and economic development organization, has positioned the event as a key opportunity for local stakeholders to engage directly with county leadership. Hosting the State of the County in Folsom underscores the city’s growing role as a regional hub for business and civic engagement.
