The Historic Folsom Twilight Concert Series continues this Thursday with another evening of free live music as AKAlive brings its high-energy “Electric Rock” show to the Zittel Family Amphitheater, promising an entertaining blend of classic rock, country, funk, R&B and contemporary favorites in the heart of the Historic District.
Presented by Bernau Development Corporation in partnership with the Folsom Historic District Association, the Twilight Concert Series has once again become one of the region’s signature summer traditions, drawing thousands of residents and visitors to Historic Folsom for weekly concerts, local dining, shopping and community gathering. With another large turnout expected this week, concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy everything the Historic District has to offer before the music begins.
For music fans looking for variety, AKAlive has earned a reputation as one of Northern California’s most versatile live bands. Rather than focusing on a single genre or era, the group’s performances span decades of popular music, seamlessly blending classic rock anthems, country favorites, funk, rhythm and blues, alternative rock and today’s hits into a show designed to keep audiences engaged from beginning to end.
Whether performing dance-floor favorites or singalong classics, the band’s extensive catalog offers something for nearly every generation. Audiences can expect to hear songs made famous by artists including Bruno Mars, Luke Bryan, Green Day, The Beatles, Tom Petty, AC/DC, U2 and many more, creating an evening that moves effortlessly from timeless rock standards to contemporary crowd favorites.
That musical versatility has made AKAlive a popular attraction throughout Northern California, where the band performs at festivals, community celebrations, concert series, private events and venues across the Sacramento region. Their ability to adapt each performance to the audience while maintaining an energetic stage presence has helped the group build a loyal following over the years.
AKAlive delivers a dynamic live show spanning rock, country, R&B, alternative and contemporary music. Known for exceptional vocalists, accomplished musicians and energetic audience interaction, the band has built a reputation for turning every performance into a full-scale party while offering something for virtually every music fan. Their polished performances blend strong vocals, tight musicianship and an infectious energy that keeps dance floors full and audiences engaged from the opening song through the encore.
Leading the band is vocalist Carl London, joined by guitarist and vocalist Joe Snook, whose musical background includes early work with the Sacramento-based band CAKE. The lineup also features El Dorado Hills resident Spencer Grimenstein on drums, Dave Meyer on bass and vocals, and Steve Carrillo on keyboards and vocals.
Together, the five musicians combine decades of performance experience to create a show built around powerful vocals, seasoned musicianship and audience interaction. From classic rock anthems and country favorites to funk grooves, soulful classics and modern pop hits, AKAlive delivers a concert experience designed to keep audiences on their feet throughout the evening.
Thursday’s performance follows another successful week of the Twilight Concert Series, which welcomed Hipper Than Hip to a packed Zittel Family Amphitheater. The horn-driven funk and soul band drew one of the season’s largest crowds as visitors filled Historic Folsom’s restaurants, shops and public gathering spaces before settling in for an evening of live music beneath the summer sky.
Following AKAlive, the 2026 Twilight Concert Series continues with LVVS on July 30, followed by Dunsbar Road on Aug. 6, Wayside Band on Aug. 13, Daze on the Green on Aug. 20 and Adam Aldama & The Aces closing out the season on Aug. 27.
Beyond the music, the Twilight Concert Series continues to serve as a weekly showcase for Historic Folsom itself. Visitors are encouraged to make an evening of it by arriving early to dine at one of the district’s many locally owned restaurants, browse boutique shops, enjoy refreshments on outdoor patios and experience the unique atmosphere that has made Historic Folsom one of the region’s most popular destinations during the summer months.
