Friday, May 29 begins with the TGIF Early Show featuring Groovy Judy at 6:30 p.m., bringing a feel-good blend of funk, soul, rock and pop to the Powerhouse stage. Known for infectious grooves, strong vocals and upbeat crowd interaction, the band creates a dance-floor-ready atmosphere designed to kickstart the weekend early.

Built around high-energy performances and crowd connection, Groovy Judy mixes classic influences with a modern party vibe, delivering a sound rooted in movement, rhythm and singalong familiarity. Their performances are designed to keep audiences engaged from the opening song forward, setting the tone for the late-night entertainment that follows.

Friday night then shifts into full party mode as 8 Track Massacre takes over at 10 p.m. Formed in 2009, the band has built its reputation around one simple philosophy: “It has to be danceable… period.” That approach has helped make the group a longtime favorite throughout the Northern California live music scene, where packed dance floors and nonstop crowd participation have become standard parts of the experience.

Their shows move rapidly between eras and styles while maintaining a nonstop pace that keeps audiences dancing and singing along deep into the night.

Saturday, May 30 begins with the Saturday Afternoon Dance Party featuring Ticket To Ride at 3 p.m., bringing audiences a musical journey through the legendary Beatles catalog. Based in the Sacramento area, the tribute band recreates the iconic sound of The Beatles using many of the same instruments associated with the group’s original recordings, including Rickenbacker, Hofner, Gibson and Vox equipment.

Saturday night then explodes into a full-scale retro dance party as The Spazmatics return to Powerhouse at 10 p.m. Known nationwide for their geek-chic style, synchronized choreography and pitch-perfect recreations of 1980s anthems, The Spazmatics have built a reputation as one of the most recognizable and entertaining tribute experiences in the country.

Built around a fictional backstory involving a physics teacher, a String Theory debate and a halftime performance of Thomas Dolby’s She Blinded Me With Science, the band combines comedy, nostalgia and polished musicianship into a fully immersive ’80s experience. Behind the humor, however, is a carefully crafted production known for precision, showmanship and nonstop audience interaction.

The weekend concludes Sunday, May 31 with the latest edition of the Sacramento-area Local Musicians Jam Series, known as SL@MJAM, beginning at 3 p.m. The event will feature performances from four local bands — Star90, Feedback Loop, Judy and the Replicators, and Band Unknown — covering music from the 1960s through today before opening the stage to musicians and vocalists from the community.
