Authorities are investigating after the body of a man was found in Folsom Lake Tuesday morning.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible body in the lake at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15. Deputies responded to the area and located an adult man in a few feet of water near Dotons Point, in the Granite Bay area of the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area.
The man was pronounced dead. The Sheriff’s Office said the cause and manner of his death have not yet been determined, though investigators said the circumstances do not appear to be suspicious at this time.
The man’s identity has not been released pending notification of his family.
The investigation into Tuesday’s discovery remains ongoing. Additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
