Saturday nights are getting musical again at Palladio as Back Bistro resumes its outdoor live music series this weekend, launching a September lineup that brings a different sound to the patio each week.

Bridget Marie and Rob Lopes get things started Saturday, Sept. 5, performing from 6 to 9 p.m. The duo leads a month that will also feature Wealth of Nations, Easy Dub and Dad Bod, with all four shows taking place on the outdoor patio near Back Bistro.

For Marie and Lopes, Saturday marks a return engagement after performing at Back Bistro earlier this summer. The pairing brings a versatile mix well suited to an evening on the patio, with Marie drawing from pop, R&B, neo-soul and smooth jazz.

Marie’s musical influences stretch from Sade, Chaka Khan and Anita Baker to Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin. Her career has also connected her with an impressive collection of musicians and producers, including Grammy-winning producer Narada Michael Walden, musician and musical director Polo Jones and jazz bassist Herbie Lewis. She has also toured with reggae artist Mikey Dread.

Lopes is a multi-instrumentalist and longtime collaborator with Marie. Together, the two have performed at restaurants, cabarets, casinos and other venues, developing a style that can move easily between soulful ballads, familiar favorites and more upbeat material.

The mood changes Sept. 12 when Wealth of Nations takes over the patio. The Sacramento-area act brings a blend of indie-folk, rock and covers to the series.

Among the musicians associated with Wealth of Nations is bassist and vocalist Dave Walters, a longtime local performer whose musical background stretches from jazz trombone to guitar and bass. Walters has also performed with Sacramento classic rock band Custom Neon and The Remedies.

That versatility should fit naturally into the Back Bistro setting, where the music is close enough to be the centerpiece of the evening without losing the relaxed feel of dinner and drinks on the patio.

Easy Dub follows Sept. 19, bringing a reggae and dub-influenced change of pace to the month. Its appearance adds a laid-back groove to a September schedule that moves deliberately between styles rather than filling every Saturday with variations of the same sound.

Dad Bod closes out the month Sept. 26 with a trip back to the rock sounds of the 1990s. The band has appeared at Back Bistro before and returns with a set built around music from a decade that produced everything from alternative and grunge to radio rock and pop-rock favorites.

The four Saturday performances make September one of those months when regulars can return each weekend and get a noticeably different experience — soulful vocals and jazz influences one week, indie and rock the next, reggae-inspired sounds after that and a dose of ’90s nostalgia to finish it off.

Music, dinner and drinks on the patio

Live music has become a natural extension of what Back Bistro has built at Palladio. Rather than turning the patio into a traditional concert venue, the restaurant keeps things casual, allowing guests to make the music part of a night out over dinner, cocktails or a glass of wine.

Back Bistro has been part of Folsom’s dining scene for more than 18 years, beginning as a neighborhood wine bar before growing into a full-service restaurant. It moved to its current Palladio location in 2018 and has since expanded its offerings beyond the dining room with an outdoor patio, bourbon lounge and a calendar of special events.

The locally owned restaurant centers its menu on made-to-order California cuisine and has developed an extensive beverage program featuring wine, craft cocktails, bourbon and whiskey. Pairing dinners and other specialty events are also part of its calendar, while live music takes center stage outdoors on Saturday evenings during the seasonal series.

The 2026 music schedule began in May and continued through June before breaking for the hottest stretch of summer. Saturday’s show marks its return, and the music will continue into October.

B-Side Band opens the October schedule Oct. 3, followed by The Vintage Tees on Oct. 10, Dog Park Justice on Oct. 17 and Love the Present on Oct. 24.

For September, Bridget Marie and Rob Lopes perform Sept. 5, Wealth of Nations follows Sept. 12, Easy Dub takes the patio Sept. 19 and Dad Bod closes the month Sept. 26. Each show runs from 6 to 9 p.m.
