Incognito, The Red Corvettes, Petty Jack Flash, Mere Mortals and Mick Martin’s Big Blues Band bring three days of live entertainment to Powerhouse Pub
From the music of Prince and Tom Petty to classic rock favorites, late-night dance parties and one of Northern California’s most respected blues ensembles, another packed weekend of live entertainment is headed to Historic Folsom as Powerhouse Pub rolls out a diverse three-day lineup of music spanning multiple genres and generations.
Headlining the weekend is Saturday night’s return of The Red Corvettes, Adam Aldama & The Aces’ popular Prince tribute production, while Friday offers a blend of classic rock and international soccer celebration before Sunday’s Powerhouse of Blues welcomes the acclaimed Mick Martin’s Big Blues Band.
Friday, July 10 begins with the TGIF Early Show featuring Incognito at 6:30 p.m. A longtime favorite throughout the Sacramento region, Incognito has built its reputation on energetic live performances, polished musicianship and rich vocal harmonies. The band’s expansive catalog spans the classic rock era while reaching into the 1980s and 1990s with familiar radio favorites that keep audiences singing along from the opening song through the final encore.
Drawing from artists who helped define generations of rock music, Incognito delivers a performance built around timeless hits, powerful instrumentation and the kind of crowd interaction that has made the band a regular throughout Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado counties. Whether it’s guitar-driven classics, arena rock favorites or well-known pop selections, the band offers something for nearly every music fan.
When the music wraps up, the celebration continues as Powerhouse transforms into its World Cup After Party beginning at 10 p.m.
No matter who hoists the trophy, the night’s biggest celebration moves to Historic Folsom as the venue fills with three DJ rooms featuring Reggaeton, Hip-Hop, R&B and today’s hottest club music. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite World Cup gear while enjoying five full-service bars, Big Rob’s Cigar & Hookah Cabana and one of the region’s largest LED dance floors.
Saturday, July 11 begins with a special Saturday Afternoon Dance Party featuring Petty Jack Flash and Mere Mortals beginning at 3 p.m. as part of Mario’s Birthday Party celebration.
Petty Jack Flash has become a favorite among classic rock fans by faithfully recreating the music of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers while adding timeless Rolling Stones favorites to the mix. Their performances capture the spirit, storytelling and unmistakable sound that made both legendary bands staples of American rock music.
Joining the afternoon celebration are Sacramento favorites Mere Mortals, who for more than 20 years have energized audiences with an upbeat mix of classic rock dance favorites from the 1960s through the 1990s while blending in select R&B hits. Their wide-ranging catalog and dance-friendly style have made them a longtime fixture throughout the Sacramento area’s live music scene.
Saturday night then belongs to one of Powerhouse’s signature tribute productions as The Red Corvettes – Prince Tribute takes the stage at 10 p.m.
Performed by Adam Aldama & The Aces, The Red Corvettes celebrate the legendary artist whose groundbreaking fusion of funk, rock, soul and pop forever changed popular music. Complete with signature purple flair and outstanding musicianship, the production recreates both the sound and spectacle that made Prince one of music’s most captivating performers.
Audiences can expect favorites including “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Purple Rain,” “Kiss,” “When Doves Cry,” “Raspberry Beret,” “Erotic City,” “DMSR” and “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World,” along with many more songs from Prince’s remarkable catalog.
Adam Aldama & The Aces have become one of Northern California’s premier live entertainment acts through a series of highly successful themed productions celebrating artists including Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, disco classics and 2000s hits. The Red Corvettes remains one of the group’s most requested performances, combining polished choreography, exceptional musicianship and nonstop crowd interaction into a concert experience that keeps audiences dancing from beginning to end.
The weekend concludes Sunday, July 12 with another installment of the popular Powerhouse of Blues series featuring Mick Martin’s Big Blues Band beginning at 3 p.m.
Although Northern California blues legend Mick Martin passed away at the height of his remarkable career, the music continues through the talented musicians who helped build one of the region’s most respected blues ensembles. Now led by David Johnson and featuring lead vocalist Marcel Smith, the band continues carrying Martin’s legacy forward while delivering the horn-driven blues sound fans have come to love.
For more than three decades, Martin introduced generations of listeners to blues music as host and producer of CapRadio’s long-running program The Blues Party. At the same time, he built an international reputation as an award-winning harmonica player, singer-songwriter and bandleader, recording more than 20 albums while sharing stages with artists including B.B. King, Bo Diddley, Elvin Bishop, Tommy Castro, Ronnie Montrose, Jimmy Rogers and Mick Taylor.
Today’s lineup continues that tradition with an all-star collection of accomplished musicians including David Johnson on trumpet and trombone, Danny Sandoval on saxophone, Andrew Little on guitar, Mike Caselli on keyboards, AJ Joyce on bass and Jim Caselli on drums. Together, the group delivers the powerful horn section, dynamic rhythms and soulful blues performances that have become synonymous with Mick Martin’s name.
