Dignity Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, and Blue Shield of California have finalized a multi-year contract ensuring Blue Shield members continue to have in-network access to all Dignity Health hospitals, facilities, and providers throughout California.

Effective Aug. 1, 2026, the new agreement emphasizes both organizations’ dedication to providing high-quality, affordable healthcare.

“Nothing is more critical than giving patients the support they need, exactly when they need it,” said Julie Sprengel, California President, Dignity Health. “Strengthening our collaboration with Blue Shield of California allows us to maintain the level of care our communities deserve.”

The renewed agreement reaffirms Dignity Health and Blue Shield’s commitment to investing in innovative solutions and patient-centered initiatives that promote better health outcomes and accessibility for the communities they serve.
