MATHER – Aviation fans will have an opportunity to secure discounted tickets to one of the region’s largest annual events when the 2026 California Capital Airshow opens its Airshow Insider presale on June 24.
The 2026 California Capital Airshow, presented through a partnership between Sacramento County and the City of Rancho Cordova, announced this week that members of its free Airshow Insider email community will receive early access to tickets before they become available to the general public on July 1.
Airshow Insiders will be eligible for savings of up to 50 percent on tickets for a limited time. The event returns to Mather Airport on Oct. 10-11 and will mark two major milestones: the airshow’s 20th anniversary and the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.
This year’s lineup will feature two of North America’s premier military jet demonstration teams, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. Organizers say the weekend will also include a variety of military and civilian aerial performers, aircraft displays, exhibits, interactive activities, live entertainment and food vendors.
A popular highlight returning in 2026 is the nighttime airshow experience, featuring drone displays, fireworks and after-dark aerial performances.

According to event organizers, parking gates will open at noon each day, with four hours of choreographed aerial performances scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The flying program will culminate with the evening night show.
“This is a once-in-a-generation airshow,” said Darcy Brewer, CEO of California Capital Airshow. “We’re celebrating 20 years of bringing the magic of flight to the Sacramento region, and we’re doing it in the year America turns 250. With two jet demonstration teams, the return of the night show, and two milestone anniversaries, this is going to be an unforgettable weekend. We encourage everyone to get their tickets early.”
Residents interested in securing discounted tickets can sign up at California Capital Airshow’s website to become an Airshow Insider. In addition to early ticket access, members receive performer announcements, flying schedules and exclusive offers throughout the season.
Organizers noted that tickets will not be sold at the gate. General public ticket sales begin July 1.
Established in 2004, the California Capital Airshow is a nonprofit organization that produces the annual aviation event while supporting educational programs, scholarships, charitable donations and youth aviation initiatives throughout the year. The organization’s mission includes honoring the Sacramento region’s aviation heritage and veterans while inspiring future generations through aviation and aerospace education.
