According to the sheriff’s office, the burglary was reported Feb. 27 in the area of Breese Circle and is believed to have occurred sometime between noon and 3 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing suspicious activity around 1 p.m. that investigators believe may be connected to the crime.

Based on information gathered so far, detectives believe the suspects fled the residence on foot before leaving the area in a vehicle that had been parked nearby on Appian Way just west of Sangiovese Drive.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a newer Audi SUV that was light gray in color and equipped with black rims. The SUV was reportedly pulled over on the south side of Appian Way with its hazard lights activated before the suspects departed the area.

Investigators say three adult male suspects were seen loading items believed to be stolen property into the trunk and doors of the vehicle before leaving. The suspects were described by a witness as having olive complexions and wearing black beanies and black long-sleeved shirts.

Authorities are now asking residents who may have been in the area during that timeframe to review any available surveillance footage or vehicle camera recordings that could help identify the suspects or vehicle involved.

“If you observed the incident, have a dashcam, or a Tesla Sentry system that may have captured the activity, please call or text Detective Macres as soon as possible,” the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said in its public request for information.

Detectives are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have dashcam footage or Tesla Sentry Mode recordings captured near Breese Circle, Appian Way or Sangiovese Drive between noon and 3 p.m. on Feb. 27.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Detective Macres by phone or text at 530-957-5227 or by email atmacresc@eldoradosheriff.gov. Authorities say even small pieces of information or video footage could help move the investigation forward.
