EL DORADO HILLS — A 13-year-old El Dorado Hills student is stepping into the spotlight on a global stage after capturing a major statewide title in one of the nation’s growing youth pageant programs.
Saanvi Palem was recently crowned Jr. Teen California Regency International, earning the top honor at the statewide Regency International competition while also sweeping several key categories that highlighted her well-rounded performance.
Among her recognitions were Best Interview, Best Talent, Best Social Media Star and the People’s Choice Award, where she garnered an impressive 1,400 votes from supporters. The combination of awards ultimately secured her the overall state title, positioning her to represent California at the International Regency competition this July in Texas.
Saanvi’s talent performance featured a vibrant Bollywood dance routine that earned her top marks from judges and the Best Talent award in her division. Her performance blended precision, expression and cultural storytelling, helping distinguish her in a competitive field of contestants from across the state.
Beyond the stage, Saanvi has built a growing presence online, connecting with approximately 5,000 followers through her social media platform, where she shares her passion for dance and glimpses into her daily life. Her recognition as Best Social Media Star reflects both her creativity and her ability to positively engage with a broader audience.
At the core of her journey is a message she hopes to amplify far beyond the pageant world. Saanvi’s personal platform centers on kindness, with a goal of encouraging children and teens to practice compassion in their everyday interactions and foster more supportive peer communities.
She credits her involvement in pageantry with helping build her confidence and leadership skills, while opening doors to opportunities that promote personal growth and community engagement. Through her experience, she hopes to inspire other young people to pursue activities that challenge them and help them grow.
Her commitment to service is already evident. Saanvi volunteers with Oakmont Senior Care in El Dorado Hills and recently participated in the UC Davis Toy Drive organized by Shining Stars Production earlier this year, further reinforcing her dedication to giving back locally.
The Regency International Pageant organization emphasizes empowerment, confidence and personal development, providing participants with opportunities to grow both personally and professionally while serving as role models in their communities. Competitors are encouraged to develop poise, leadership and a sense of purpose that extends beyond the competition itself.
As she prepares to represent California on the international stage this summer, Saanvi is eager to continue sharing her message of kindness while embracing the next chapter of her journey—one that now extends well beyond her hometown.
