It’s October on Sutter Street and as you may know the deadites will rise and the blood will flow – but there is one thing we need to know – are you ready to Rock & Roll with the audiencesshout back on October 1st, the 16th season of Evil Dead The Musical will kick off its six-week run at Sutter Street Theatre.
The story started 16 years ago when artistic director Connie Mockenhaupt was in search of a Halloween production along the genre of the Rocky Horror Show, which we chose not to produce because a theatre in the region had produced it over the last few years.
Michael Coleman, one of our artistic associates at the time, presented Connie the script for Evil Dead The Musical to read. Connie was certain it was not for Sutter Street Theatre until she listened to the quirky, catchy Rock Style music and then she was hooked.
Evil Dead The Musical has been nearly sold out early every year with some performances sold out a year in advance. We often add performances. The audience is literally worldwide.

Last year alone included groups from Poland, New York, Texas, Oregon – Redding to LA and the Bay Area to Southshore. A new performance has just been added but check it out early as it is sure to sell out.
Evil Dead The Musical is not for everybody. If you like outrageous, bawdy comedy, amazing dancing and Rock style music, this may be just the show for you. What started out as a show for 18 and over has come to be an annual family event with sales of custom T-shirts, exclusive prints, show buttons and an assemblance of more souvenirs and merchandise.
So, if it is too late to get a ticket for this year, in just a month or so you can make your reservation for next year at www.SutterStreetTheatre.com. Mike Jimena is the Managing Director of Sutter Street Theatre.
