Family-friendly tradition at Lembi Park set for April 4 with interactive activities, prizes and more

Springtime in Folsom will once again come alive with color, laughter and community as the City of Folsom Parks and Recreation Department brings back its popular Festival of Eggs on Saturday, April 4, offering a lively morning designed for families with young children.

Set for 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Lembi Park, located at 1302 Riley Street, the annual celebration continues to build on its modern, interactive approach that has helped transform the city’s former egg hunt format into a more engaging and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Designed for children ages 10 and under, the Festival of Eggs replaces the traditional fast-paced scramble with the now-familiar Bunny Trail, a guided experience that allows kids to explore at their own pace while collecting eggs, treats and prizes along the way. Upon arrival, participants follow a designated route through activity stations and vendor booths, gathering stamps, goodies and surprises throughout the park. Families are reminded to bring a basket to collect their finds.

The experience concludes with a visit to the Easter Bunny, where families can capture photos and celebrate the season, one of the event’s most popular traditions. Children who complete the full Bunny Trail will also have the opportunity to enter for a Golden Egg prize, adding an extra layer of excitement to the morning.

Beyond the trail, the festival offers a full slate of entertainment and activities. A pancake breakfast will be available for purchase, while carnival games hosted by the Folsom Teen Council provide hands-on fun for kids of all ages. Vendor displays, community booths and lively entertainment further enhance the festive atmosphere, creating a well-rounded event that continues to grow in popularity each year.

To help maintain a smooth and enjoyable experience, organizers will again stagger arrival times. Families with children ages 6 and under are encouraged to attend between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., while those with children ages 7 to 10 are recommended to arrive between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

With its blend of interactive activities, family traditions and community spirit, the Festival of Eggs has quickly become a signature springtime event in Folsom. From the colorful Bunny Trail to games, food and photo opportunities, the event offers something for everyone while creating lasting memories for local families.
