EL DORADO HILLS — Fire crews with the El Dorado Hills Fire Department responded Saturday afternoon to a small structure fire near the intersection of Serrano Parkway and El Dorado Hills Boulevard, where crews quickly gained control of the blaze.
According to El Dorado Hills Fire, the fire occurred at the site of the former golf course, where an abandoned storage container structure caught fire. Responding units arrived on scene and located flames burning inside the metal container, with light smoke visible from the surrounding area.
Firefighters moved in quickly to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading into nearby vegetation and surrounding open space. Crews extinguished the flames within a short time, and the incident was brought under control without reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
