Nonprofit continues 31-year mission of supporting music education and young artists
The Folsom Concert Association is now accepting applications for its 2026 Performing Arts Scholarship Program, offering up to $5,000 to graduating high school seniors across the Sacramento region who plan to pursue a career in the performing arts.
The annual program supports university and college-bound students seeking careers in vocal or instrumental performance, theatre and film acting, theatre, film or music production, the business of theatre, dance, or becoming an educator in any of those disciplines. Applications are open through Friday, March 6, 2026. Scholarships will be awarded in the spring and will apply beginning with the fall 2026 semester.
For more than 31 years, the Folsom Concert Association has supported the community through music education and live performance. The nonprofit provides professional and student musicians to seniors in residential communities, supplies instruments for students and schools in need, and presents one of the region’s most reasonably priced concert series at the Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom.
“High school seniors across our region have aspirations to enter the performing arts,” said Association President Ila Dubin. “The Folsom Concert Association helps turn their dreams into reality through the Performing Arts Scholarship Program. We want to invest in the future of talented young artists.”
Since launching the scholarship initiative, the Association has awarded more than $96,000 in college scholarships to 32 high school seniors pursuing careers in the performing arts. The program is funded through the support of donors, sponsors, concertgoers and community supporters.
In 2025, four seniors from West Park High School, Folsom High School, Rio Americano High School and Oakmont High School received scholarships totaling $15,000. Those students are pursuing career paths in theatrical design and production, music, jazz piano and dance.

One scholarship recipient shared the impact the performing arts have had on their life and future goals.
“Music creates wonders. With my work in the performing arts, I want to pay it forward. I want to support and inspire those who love the arts through education, performance, and nonprofit work just like how I had been helped countless times.”
