Recognition honors leadership and lasting impact on student-athletes across the district
The Folsom Cordova Unified School District is celebrating the announcement that Director of Athletics Peter Maroon has been named the 2026 Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators, Region 3, recognizing his leadership and impact on student success throughout the district.
The prestigious regional honor highlights Maroon’s role in strengthening athletic programs across FCUSD while fostering sportsmanship and expanding opportunities for students at all levels.
“This prestigious honor reflects Mr. Maroon’s outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to student success across the District. Through his dedication to strengthening athletic programs, promoting sportsmanship, and expanding opportunities for students, he has made a lasting impact on campuses and within the broader FCUSD community,” the district shared in its announcement.
Maroon’s leadership has helped elevate athletics as an extension of the educational experience, emphasizing character development, teamwork and inclusion while creating more access and opportunities for student-athletes across the district.
He will be formally recognized at the Association of California School Administrators Region 3 Annual Administrator of the Year Awards Gala on April 13, 2026, in Elk Grove.
