District staff joined hundreds of families for games, resources and community outreach at Hagan Community Park

Folsom Cordova Unified School District staff joined hundreds of children and families at Hagan Community Park this past weekend as the Cordova Community Council hosted its 36th annual Kids Day in the Park, one of Rancho Cordova’s long-running family traditions.

This year’s event carried the theme “America, the Beautiful,” celebrating the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding while also highlighting the strength, beauty and diversity of local communities. Designed for children 12 and younger and their families, the event once again brought together interactive games, hands-on activities, live entertainment and a health and resource fair featuring local providers, agencies and community organizations.

FCUSD was among the many community partners taking part in the celebration. District school and department staff, along with members of FCUSD leadership, welcomed families throughout the day and offered activities designed to spark curiosity, creativity and learning for children of all ages.

Beyond the games and entertainment, families had the opportunity to learn more about the district’s wide range of programs and services. FCUSD representatives shared information on early childhood education, after-school opportunities, student support services, Community Schools and career opportunities available through the district’s human resources team.

The annual event offered the district another opportunity to connect directly with families outside the classroom while showcasing programs that support students from their earliest years through career readiness.
