A pre-dawn response by Folsom Police officers led to the arrest of a local man and the seizure of multiple suspected narcotics following an investigation into reported drug sales activity in a residential neighborhood.
According to the Folsom Police Department, officers were dispatched just after 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, to the 100 block of Bayline Circle after receiving reports of suspected narcotics sales taking place inside a residential garage.
Upon arrival, officers contacted a man at the property who had previously been confirmed to be on searchable probation. As officers initiated contact, they requested the man secure his dogs due to aggressive behavior, creating a tense and controlled situation while the investigation unfolded.
During the interaction, an officer observed the man remove an item from a bag inside the garage and place it into a nearby trash can, prompting further investigation. A probation search of the garage was subsequently conducted.
Authorities reported the search resulted in the seizure of approximately six ounces of suspected psychedelic mushrooms, along with 23 suspected ecstasy capsules and paraphernalia commonly associated with the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.
The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Joshua Olson of Folsom, was taken into custody at the scene. He was later booked into the Sacramento County Jail on felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance for sale and related offenses.

The incident underscores ongoing enforcement efforts by local law enforcement to address drug-related activity within residential areas. In a statement, the department emphasized its continued focus on community safety and proactive policing.
“The Folsom Police Department takes all reports of illegal activity seriously and commends our officers for their professionalism while relentlessly pursuing criminal behavior, and their commitment to keeping our community safe,” the department stated.
