A heavy emergency response drew attention Friday morning in Folsom after a pickup truck crashed into a trash enclosure structure in a shopping center parking lot near Blue Ravine Road and Natoma Station Drive, prompting first responders to immediately begin life-saving procedures on the driver.
Just after 9:31 a.m., crews from the Folsom Fire Department and Folsom Police Department were dispatched to a reported traffic collision near the intersection.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a full-size Ford pickup truck that had crashed head-on into a trash receptacle enclosure in the parking lot near 192 Blue Ravine Road, adjacent to the shopping center area near WinCo Foods.
According to radio traffic and information gathered at the scene, first responders immediately initiated life-saving efforts after discovering the male driver was reportedly not breathing when crews arrived.
Firefighters and paramedics continued emergency medical treatment while transporting the driver from the scene aboard Medic 35 for further care. The individual’s condition was unknown at this time.
Preliminary information indicates the crash may have been triggered by a medical emergency suffered by the driver prior to the collision. Police remained at the scene Friday morning investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
