A weeklong investigation into a commercial burglary at a business complex on Iron Point Road has led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of stolen property, according to the Folsom Police Department.
Officers responded April 22 to a reported burglary at the Folsom Business Center, where an unknown suspect had entered the building overnight and stolen laptops, business key cards and other items with a combined value exceeding $3,000.
Surveillance footage captured a male suspect entering the business around 1:45 a.m. Detectives later reviewed body-worn camera footage from the same night and identified a subject wearing the same distinctive clothing in the area behind a nearby movie theater. The individual was subsequently identified as Edward Brown.
On April 29, officers assigned to the department’s Homeless Outreach Team and Special Investigations Unit located Brown in the 12000 block of Folsom Boulevard. Authorities said he was wearing the same clothing seen in the burglary footage and was found in possession of some of the stolen items.
Brown was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and violation of probation.
According to police, the case was resolved through coordinated efforts across multiple divisions, including patrol officers, detectives, community service officers and specialized units. Officials credited the collaboration and follow-up investigation for the swift identification and arrest of the suspect.
