Folsom Police are investigating after a body was discovered near a businesses on East Bidwell Street early Monday morning.
According to the Folsom Police Department, officers and detectives responded to the 2700 block of East Bidwell Street, which is home to the Broadstone Marketplace Center, after a body of an adult woman was reported at approximately 6 a.m. on July 13.
The investigation remained active Monday morning as detectives processed the scene. According to Folsom Police the body was found in the fountain of the shopping center.
Folsom Police did cite that there appears to be no threat to the community. “Detectives have learned the death of an adult woman was likely the result of an accident, and there is no indication of foul play,” Folsom Police said in a statement Monday as they wrapped up their investigation at the scene. “Additional information is not available for release at this time.”
The Sacramento County Coroner later released the identity of the woman as Dana Marie Stark, 44, of Fair Oaks. At the time of the release the coroner’s office shared the cause of death had not been determined by examiners. Police have classified as the circumstances of the death as accidental and have ruled out any foul play.
