Sydney Wilson, a junior at Vista del Lago, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious 18 Under Eighteen Award presented by the Folsom Chapter of the National Charity League, Inc., the nation’s premier mother-daughter volunteer organization. Wilson was one of only 18 young women selected nationwide for the honor.

The award recognizes exceptional leadership, philanthropy and commitment among NCL Ticktockers, the organization’s teen members. Recipients were chosen through a highly competitive national application process overseen by the National Ticktocker Advisory Council, which included the completion of eight essays outlining each applicant’s leadership experience, community involvement and personal impact through the organization.

According to the organization, the award honors Ticktockers who demonstrate passion, dedication and meaningful service within both their local chapters and the communities they support. Honorees are also recognized for serving as role models to their peers nationwide.

“One of the primary pillars of National Charity League is leadership, so to see that our lessons and examples of leadership have inspired our teens to also lead their peers is very rewarding,” said Lara Simmons, president of the Folsom Chapter of National Charity League. “We are so proud of Sydney and look forward to the wonderful things she does in the future.”
