A recently vacated restaurant space in Broadstone Marketplace is already preparing for a fresh culinary chapter as Palette Dim Sum & Lounge moves forward with plans to open its first Sacramento-area location in Folsom.
The upcoming restaurant will replace the former Saigon Alley Kitchen + Bar storefront in the popular east Folsom shopping center, bringing with it an upscale dim sum concept that blends Cantonese tradition with contemporary presentation. After months of vacancy, the high-visibility space is poised to reopen with a dramatically different dining experience centered on handcrafted dumplings, refined flavors and polished design.
Palette Dim Sum & Lounge is known for elevating classic Cantonese fare through modern technique, premium ingredients and thoughtful hospitality. At the heart of the concept is made-to-order dim sum — delicately folded har gow, savory siu mai and carefully crafted xiao long bao — presented with the kind of attention to detail typically associated with fine dining.
The menu is expected to feature signature dishes such as lobster har gow and squid ink and truffle-infused xiao long bao alongside familiar favorites like vegetable spring rolls and fried rice plates. Roast meats and specialty dishes add depth to the lineup, including whole roasted Peking duck and golden salted egg yolk creations that reflect both heritage and innovation.
The brand originated in San Francisco with a vision to reimagine Cantonese cuisine while honoring its cultural roots. That philosophy extends beyond the plate, emphasizing refined interiors, modern plating and a dining atmosphere designed to make dim sum an occasion rather than a quick bite.
The Folsom location joins a growing collection of restaurants operated by the Ng family. Their portfolio includes Palette Tea Garden, Palette Tea House and Palette Tea Lounge, as well as the acclaimed Koi Palace and Dragon Beaux. The group also operates a Palette Dim Sum location in Tustin, continuing its steady expansion across California and Nevada.

According to records from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, Palette FS LLC is the company behind the future Folsom restaurant. State filings list Kevin Ng as the managing member of the entity.
The restaurant will be officially located at 2770 East Bidwell St., Suite 600, within Broadstone Marketplace. The space has been vacant since Saigon Alley closed in December, less than a year after opening. At the time, ownership described the closure as part of a strategic effort to streamline its portfolio and focus on upcoming projects.
Broadstone Marketplace has experienced its fair share of tenant changes in recent years, with restaurant spaces evolving alongside shifting dining trends. Vacancies have consistently given way to fresh concepts, bringing new flavors and renewed energy to the center. In addition to the upcoming dim sum arrival, the former Five Guys location is currently being transformed into Midtown Breakfast Club, signaling continued investment and activity within the popular east Folsom shopping destination. another change in the works is Taiko Sushi transforming into the new Chason’s Crab Stadium (see related story).
With Palette Dim Sum & Lounge preparing to debut in summer 2026, Broadstone Marketplace appears ready to trade vacancy for a vibrant new dining draw — one built around the art of dim sum and a refined approach to Cantonese cuisine. An official opening date has not yet been announced.
