The City of Folsom’s Summer of Music Series comes to a close Friday evening as Inverness 95 takes the stage at Lions Park, delivering a high-energy tribute to the music that defined a generation while bringing another successful season of free outdoor concerts to an end.
The free concert takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lions Park, 403 Stafford Street, where families, friends and music fans are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy one final summer evening of live music on the park’s expansive lawn. Food trucks will once again be on site, rounding out the family-friendly atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the annual series.
After opening the season with country-rock favorites In Kahootz, followed by the genre-spanning sounds of Power Play and the series most recent concert featuring an energetic Top 40 performance by Night Owls, Friday’s finale shifts into the soundtrack of the 1990s and early 2000s with one of the Sacramento region’s best-known alternative rock tribute bands.
Inverness 95 has become a fixture throughout Northern California’s live music scene, earning a loyal following through energetic performances that celebrate the golden era of alternative rock. The Sacramento-area band is known for recreating the music that filled arenas, college campuses and radio stations during one of rock’s most influential decades.
Audiences can expect a setlist packed with songs from many of the era’s biggest artists, including Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Blink-182 and Bush. Combining faithful musicianship with an energetic stage show, Inverness 95 recreates the sound and excitement of the grunge and alternative rock movement that helped define the 1990s and early 2000s.
The band’s lineup features veteran musicians James Parr on lead vocals and guitar alongside Danny Parr on drums and backing vocals. Their experience and attention to detail have helped establish Inverness 95 as a popular attraction at casinos, breweries, festivals and concert venues throughout the Sacramento region.
Whether it’s a Foo Fighters anthem, a Green Day sing-along, a Pearl Jam favorite or the unmistakable sound of Nirvana, the band delivers a nostalgic concert experience designed to keep audiences engaged from the opening song until the final notes of the evening.
The Summer of Music Series has once again provided residents with a free opportunity to gather throughout the summer for live entertainment in one of Folsom’s neighborhood parks. With room for children to play, food trucks serving a variety of offerings and plenty of space for lawn chairs and blankets, the concerts have continued to provide a relaxed setting for families and friends to enjoy warm Friday evenings together.
Friday’s performance marks the conclusion of this year’s four-concert lineup, closing another successful season of community entertainment presented by the City of Folsom.
