A full weekend of high-energy live music is set to take over Historic Folsom as Powerhouse Pub rolls out a packed lineup of throwback hits, dance-floor favorites and blues-driven performances from Friday through Sunday.
The weekend kicks off Friday, March 27 with a double dose of live music beginning with the TGIF Early Show featuringAmped Up 80sat 6:30 p.m. Known for their explosive stage presence, the band delivers a high-energy tribute to one of music’s most iconic decades, blending rock-driven guitars with powerful vocals and a nonstop stream of recognizable hits. Their performances lean into the full 80s experience, encouraging fans to embrace the era’s bold style with neon colors, big hair and classic band tees while filling the dance floor with sing-along favorites.
As the night progresses, the groove shifts into a deeper, rhythm-driven experience whenMidnight Playerstake the stage at 10 p.m. A Sacramento music scene mainstay since 1977, the band brings decades of experience and a reputation for delivering crowd-moving performances rooted in old school R&B, funk, Latin and classic dance hits. With founding members Rudy Betancourt on saxophone and Michael Sellars on keyboards still leading the group, the Midnight Players continue to draw a loyal following across the region.
Their setlist spans multiple generations of music, featuring songs from artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang, Chaka Khan, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Cameo and more, creating a dance environment built on groove, familiarity and musical precision. Saturday night then shifts into early-2000s nostalgia asY2K Live (2000’s Hits)takes the stage at 10 p.m., delivering a high-energy show built around the biggest hits of the era. From pop anthems by Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez to hip-hop and party tracks from Lil Jon, Usher, Will Smith, Smash Mouth and Blink-182, the performance brings together a wide range of sounds that defined a generation.
The show is designed as more than just a concert, creating a full nightlife experience with live band performances, DJ sets on the patio, multiple bar areas and added attractions including Big Rob’s cigar and hookah lounge. The daughter of legendary Northern Irish musician Van Morrison, she began performing in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1990s before expanding into international touring. Over the years, she has shared billing with artists such as Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker and Dr. John, and has appeared at major festivals including the San Francisco Blues Festival and the Cork Jazz Festival.
Her live shows reflect that wide range of influences, combining original material with carefully selected covers and often including songs associated with her father’s catalog. With a voice that moves effortlessly across genres, Morrison delivers performances that connect with audiences through both musical depth and emotional range.
