A season of live music in the city will come to a powerful and dynamic close next month as the Folsom Concert Association presents TAKE3 in a genre-defying performance that promises to deliver far more than a traditional concert experience. The nationally touring trio will take the stage Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m. inside the Harris Center for the Arts, bringing with them a high-energy fusion of classical mastery and modern hits designed to captivate audiences of all ages.

For more than three decades, the Folsom Concert Association has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, accessible live music to the region, and this finale continues that tradition in a bold and contemporary way. Known for presenting a wide range of performances, the organization has hosted more than 140 concerts over its 30-year history, all while maintaining one of the most affordable concert series offerings in the region.

With TAKE3, however, audiences can expect something distinctly different.

Blending pop, rock, oldies, country, and cinematic scores with classical instrumentation, the trio has carved out a unique niche in the live performance world—one that breaks down the boundaries between genres and redefines what a string-based ensemble can be. Their shows are as much about energy and engagement as they are about musicianship, featuring inventive arrangements, dynamic stage presence, and a sense of spontaneity that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.

The group’s performances have been described by fans as exhilarating and immersive, with some comparing the experience to a scaled-down version of a Trans-Siberian Orchestra production, blending theatrical elements with musical precision.

At the center of TAKE3 is violinist and vocalist Lindsay Deutsch, whose career bridges the worlds of classical performance and mainstream entertainment. A featured soloist with Yanni, Deutsch has toured extensively across the globe, performing in major venues on multiple continents and building an international following through both live appearances and recorded work.

Her reach extends into television and film as well, with performances featured prominently in soundtracks for The Witcher and The Thing About Pam. Those recordings climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard charts, earning millions of streams and further establishing her as a versatile and influential artist.

Deutsch founded TAKE3 with the goal of challenging the notion that classical music must remain confined to traditional settings. Instead, the trio thrives in a space where artistry meets pop culture, delivering performances that feel equally at home in a concert hall or a high-energy live entertainment venue.

That approach has fueled an extensive touring schedule, with TAKE3 performing at hundreds of venues and performing arts centers across the United States. Their resume includes collaborations and appearances with orchestras and festivals such as the North Charleston POPS, Cape Symphony, Boulder Chamber Orchestra, and major events like Festival Mozaic, the Redlands Bowl, and the Bear Valley Music Festival.

Off stage, the group is equally committed to outreach and education, using their platform to inspire young musicians and connect with communities. Their programs often emphasize creativity, perseverance, and the importance of following one’s passion, reinforcing the group’s broader mission beyond performance.

Their live shows are carefully crafted experiences that go beyond music alone. Interactive lighting, storytelling, and moments of humor are woven into the performance, as the trio shares stories of their journey—from classical training rooms to packed stages—while keeping the tone engaging and approachable.

For the Folsom Concert Association, the event also represents the culmination of another successful season supported by the community. As a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization founded in 1994, FCA relies on local patrons, sponsors, donors, and grants to sustain its programming. Proceeds from performances like TAKE3 not only fund future concerts but also support a range of outreach efforts, including bringing live music to senior communities, offering scholarships to high school students, and refurbishing instruments for schools in need.

With its combination of high-level musicianship, contemporary appeal, and engaging presentation, TAKE3’s upcoming performance is positioned to deliver a memorable finale to the season—one that reflects both the evolution of live music and the enduring appetite for innovative entertainment in the Folsom community.
