Internationally acclaimed tribute recreates the sights, sounds and swagger of one of rock’s greatest bands as World Cup Final watch party follows Sunday in Orangevale
Fans of one of rock’s most legendary bands will have the chance to “Jump” back into the glory days of arena rock this Saturday as Fan Halen brings its internationally acclaimed Van Halen tribute show to The Boardwalk in Orangevale.
Beginning at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18, the Southern California-based tribute act will recreate the music, energy and larger-than-life stage presence that helped make Van Halen one of the biggest rock bands in history.
Known as “The World’s Most Authentic Tribute to Van Halen,” Fan Halen has spent more than a decade thrilling audiences by delivering a concert experience that goes well beyond simply performing the music. From the wardrobe and choreography to the signature guitar tones, soaring vocals and unmistakable stage swagger, the band recreates the look, sound and excitement of Van Halen’s classic David Lee Roth era with remarkable attention to detail.
Over the years, Fan Halen has toured extensively throughout the United States and around the globe, performing in Europe, Japan, Canada, Mexico, and South and Central America while building a reputation as one of the world’s premier Van Halen tribute acts.
Leading the tribute is vocalist Ernie Berru, whose portrayal of David Lee Roth has become one of the band’s defining trademarks. From the signature vocals and colorful stage outfits to the charismatic personality that earned Roth the nickname “Diamond Dave,” Berru delivers a performance that captures the frontman’s unmistakable style and larger-than-life presence.
Guitarist Derek Fuller recreates Eddie Van Halen’s groundbreaking guitar work with remarkable precision, tackling the legendary solos, tapping techniques and instantly recognizable riffs that forever changed rock guitar. Bassist Andy Catt channels Michael Anthony’s driving bass lines while delivering the soaring harmony vocals that became a hallmark of Van Halen’s signature sound, while drummer Michael Thompson powers the band from behind a massive Ludwig drum kit, recreating the thunderous energy and showmanship of Alex Van Halen.
Together, the four musicians faithfully recreate every aspect of a classic Van Halen performance, delivering note-for-note renditions of many of the band’s biggest hits while embracing the excitement, choreography and larger-than-life spectacle that made Van Halen one of the greatest live acts in rock history.
Audiences can expect an evening packed with iconic songs including “Jump,” “Panama,” “Runnin’ With the Devil,” “Hot for Teacher,” “Dance the Night Away” and many more from the band’s legendary catalog.
For longtime fans, the performance offers an opportunity to relive one of rock’s defining eras. For younger audiences, it’s a chance to experience the songs, musicianship and stage production that helped establish Van Halen as one of the most influential and successful rock bands of all time.

Saturday’s performance continues The Boardwalk’s tradition of bringing nationally recognized tribute acts to Orangevale while celebrating the artists and music that have shaped generations of fans. Located at 9426 Greenback Lane, the venue has long been one of the Sacramento region’s premier destinations for live entertainment, regularly hosting touring artists, tribute bands, original acts, comedy shows and specialty events.
The concert begins at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18. Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All ticket sales are final.
Whether you’re a lifelong Van Halen fan or simply looking to experience one of rock’s most celebrated catalogs performed with stunning authenticity, Fan Halen promises to make audiences feel like it’s 1984 all over again.
