New art and floral workshop space invites community to create, connect and unwind
EL DORADO HILLS — A new hands-on creative studio is bringing art, flowers and community connection together in El Dorado Hills, as Art & Bloom Studio prepares to open its doors in the community with a concept centered on slowing down and creating something meaningful.
Founded by local artist and floral designer Rachel Hubbard, the studio was built around a simple idea: provide a welcoming, thoughtfully designed space where people of all ages and experience levels can step away from their daily routines and reconnect through creativity. The result is a workshop-style environment that blends instruction with experience, encouraging participants to learn new skills while enjoying the process.
Art & Bloom Studio’s programming reflects that balance, offering a wide range of hands-on classes that combine both art and floral design. On the floral side, workshops will guide participants through creating centerpieces, seasonal arrangements, wearable florals and candle-accented designs, with an emphasis on both technique and personal expression.
On the art side, offerings will include watercolor painting, mixed media projects, botanical art and miniature garden creations, each designed to be approachable for beginners while still engaging for more experienced participants.
Beyond individual classes, the studio will serve as a gathering space for shared experiences. Parent-child workshops are designed to provide meaningful bonding opportunities through simple, creative projects, while private bookings will accommodate birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, and team-building events. The goal, Hubbard said, is to create moments that feel both relaxed and memorable, whether someone is attending a first-time class or celebrating a special occasion.
“There’s something special about sitting around a table, creating with your hands, and sharing that experience with others,” Hubbard said. “This studio is meant to be a place where people can get off-line, be in a beautiful space, and get creative.”
That sense of connection is a central theme behind the studio’s vision. In an increasingly fast-paced, screen-driven world, Art & Bloom Studio aims to offer a setting where people can slow down, engage with their surroundings and build connections—both with their own creativity and with others in the room.
The community at large will have an opportunity to experience all the business has to offer during its upcoming official grand opening celebration. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and will feature a variety of mini activities designed for both adults and children, giving guests a preview of the types of workshops the studio will offer.
