EL DORADO HILLS – Families attending the annual Fireworks and Freedom celebration at El Dorado Hills Town Center will have plenty to keep children entertained before the evening fireworks spectacular as the popular Kids Zone, powered by Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference, returns Thursday, July 3.
Operating from 6 to 9 p.m., the youth-organized Kids Zone will feature bounce houses, inflatables, games, activities, music and more while raising funds to support Hands4Hope’s youth leadership and community service programs.
Admission to the Kids Zone is free and includes access to a live DJ, a family lounge area, activities designed especially for Tiny Tots, and vendors offering food, drinks, glow toys and other family-friendly items. Wristbands are required to enjoy the bounce houses and inflatable attractions.
Children ages 2 to 5 will have their own dedicated bounce houses and slides, while older children can enjoy larger inflatables, including a giant obstacle course and other specialty attractions designed to help them burn off energy before the evening fireworks display.
General admission wristbands purchased at the event are $25, while Tiny Tot wristbands for children ages 2 to 5 are $20. Families purchasing three or more wristbands will receive a $5 discount. Those who purchase wristbands online in advance can save an additional 15 percent per wristband through noon on July 2 and will also have access to a dedicated presale pickup line.
“If you’re looking for fun, games, and unforgettable memories, Kids Zone will be your go to place this summer,” said Avanti Ramamoorthy, a rising junior at Oak Ridge High School and Marketing/Finance Co-Chair for the youth-led Hands4Hope Kids Zone Committee. “This year, we’ve got exciting activities planned, from bounce houses to a toddler bean bag toss. We also have popular snacks and toys for sale that families are going to love. We’re really aiming for an evening packed with fun.”
The Kids Zone is planned and operated by a youth-led Hands4Hope committee made up of youth committee members, youth leaders and adult mentors. Every purchase made during the event helps fund Hands4Hope’s life-changing programs that empower young people through service-learning opportunities while benefiting communities throughout El Dorado County.
This year’s event is supported by numerous community sponsors. Hands4Hope is also seeking volunteers to help operate the event. High school students, middle school students accompanied by an adult, and adult volunteers are needed to assist with bounce house monitoring, sales support, photography and other activities throughout the evening. Volunteers will receive event T-shirts, pizza and water while earning valuable community service hours and supporting Hands4Hope’s mission.
Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference is a youth-driven El Dorado County nonprofit organization that empowers young people to become compassionate, civic-minded leaders through service-learning.
