Family owned shop known for dry-aged cuts and specialty goods expands with second location
EL DORADO HILLS — A new destination for high-quality meats and specialty provisions is on the way to El Dorado Hills Town Center, as Kings Meats prepares to open its second location in the heart of the community’s main retail corridor.
The locally owned butcher shop, which has built a loyal following at its original Diamond Springs location, is expanding into a 4,000-square-foot space at 4370 Town Center Blvd., Suite 110, taking over the former Avantus storefront. At this time a grand opening date has not been announced as construction and modifications are getting underway at the new location.
The move marks a significant milestone for the business and signals continued growth for the region’s demand for premium, locally sourced food offerings.
Founded in early 2020 by longtime butcher Casey King, Kings Meats has become a go-to stop for customers seeking top-tier cuts and a traditional butcher shop experience with a modern, specialty market feel. King, who has worked in the trade since 1993, brings decades of experience to the business, which he operates alongside his family.
At its Diamond Springs location, Kings Meats is known for its wide selection of dry-aged beef, hand-cut steaks, pork chops and house-made sausages, as well as deli meats and ready-to-grill favorites like burgers and hot dogs. The shop emphasizes quality sourcing, offering 100 percent USA-born, raised and processed beef, along with premium options such as Angus and A5 Wagyu cuts.
Beyond the butcher counter, the business has carved out a niche as a specialty food destination. Customers can browse curated selections of breads, cheeses, oils, spices, rubs and sauces, along with a rotating lineup of local goods that may include pies, produce, seafood and prepared meals. The combination has helped Kings Meats stand out as more than just a butcher shop, but a one-stop market for elevated home cooking.
The upcoming El Dorado Hills location is expected to mirror that same approach, bringing both high-quality meats and a curated retail experience to the Town Center. The expansion also positions Kings Meats within a high-traffic retail hub along the Highway 50 corridor, where continued residential growth has fueled demand for specialty food retailers and locally owned concepts.
With its reputation for quality, craftsmanship and community roots, Kings Meats’ arrival in El Dorado Hills is poised to add a new flavor to the Town Center’s evolving lineup of businesses, offering a fresh option for those who value premium ingredients and the art of the butcher trade.
