Red Hawk Resort Casino delivers another full weekend of live entertainment as three distinct acts take the stage across its popular Stage Bar and The Apex, offering guests a mix of traditional country, acoustic artistry and high-energy classic rock.
Friday night at the Stage Bar kicks off with the soulful country sound of Kirk Basquez and Los Vaqueros, performing from 8 p.m. to midnight. A natural-born performer raised in a large family of musicians, Basquez discovered his passion for country music at an early age. At just six years old, he received his first guitar from his mother, beginning a lifelong journey rooted in music.
Drawing influence from country legends such as Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and Jamey Johnson, along with modern artists like Sturgill Simpson and John Mayer, Basquez blends traditional country soul with a modern edge. His sound reflects both the storytelling roots of classic country and the evolving style of today’s genre.
Known for his passionate performances across Northern California, particularly in the South Lake Tahoe region, Basquez has built a strong following through his ability to connect with audiences in any setting. He frequently collaborates with regional favorites such as the Cripple Creek Band, and whether performing in a honky-tonk bar or on a casino stage, he delivers an engaging show that resonates with country music fans.
Live music begins even earlier Friday evening at The Apex at Red Hawk Resort Casino, where multi-instrumentalist Jayson Angove takes the stage as part of the venue’s live entertainment lineup. A familiar name throughout the California music scene, Angove brings a unique acoustic performance style that blends guitar, vocals and loop pedal technology to create layered soundscapes in real time.
Using looping techniques, Angove builds songs piece by piece, transforming a solo performance into a rich, full-band experience. His ability to construct rhythm, melody and harmony live on stage gives audiences an immersive and dynamic show that stands apart from traditional acoustic sets.
Saturday night shifts the energy back to the Stage Bar as Donnie and the Wayrads take over from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., delivering a high-energy set of classic rock favorites designed to keep the dance floor moving.
Known for their crowd-focused performances, the band brings a lineup of hits that audiences instantly recognize, creating an atmosphere where guests can sing along from their tables or join the action on the dance floor. Their shows are built on energy, authenticity and a strong connection with the crowd, turning each performance into a shared experience.
From the first note to the final song, Donnie and the Wayrads deliver four hours of nonstop entertainment, closing out the weekend with a lively celebration of rock music’s most enduring hits.
All Stage Bar performances at Red Hawk Resort Casino are free with no cover charge, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
