On Thursday evening, nearly 100 people gathered at The Square to support the Folsom History Museum and its third annualEat. Create. Celebrate.fundraiser. The event showcased local restaurants, shops, wineries, live music, and artisans, with stations set up for attendees to try their hand at historic crafts using modern techniques. From stamping leather and creating felt flowers to making candles, this experiential evening brought the community together to learn about our past and celebrate our future.

Folsom’s rich history is rooted in the Gold Rush, but unlike many remnant boomtowns of the past, it has evolved so muchsince Theodore Judah first laid out the town in 1855. A thriving economy, close-knit community, and plethora of things to do are just a few of the many reasons why Folsom is the number one city to live in California!

The Folsom History Museum unveiled its plans to expand The Square later this year, enhancing Ashland Station and building an annex for the Blacksmith shop. “History isn’t something meant to be read about. It’s meant to be experienced.

That’s what’s so wonderful about The Square. It’s a gathering place for our community right in the heart of Folsom. It’s a place where history is brought to life for every generation through hands-on activities, like learning the art of blacksmithing and creative arts,” said Rita Hoffstadt, Executive Director of the Folsom History Museum.

While this expansion means the museum can host more events and workshops, it also opens up the opportunity for members of the community to host special events in a truly unique, historic space. From birthday parties and corporate events to weddings and makerspace gatherings, The Square is poised to become a place where every generation can make history, celebrate the present, and forge the future together.
