Do the moms in your family have a liking for the music of Elton John?  If the yes is the answer, then El Dorado Hills Town Center has just the event to celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday as Kenny Metcalf brings his tribute to the Grand Poobah of rock and roll.

It’s the Rockin’ the Boulevard Mother’s Day Charity concert, a brand new event to the Steven Young Amphitheater and a prelude to El Dorado Hills Town Center’s Thursday concert series that begins next month. The event is free for all to attend, but is raising funds by means of suggested donations that will benefit Women’s Fund El Dorado. Contributions will directly support the invaluable work of this organization, funding programs in El Dorado County for basic human needs, poverty, women, children and more.

Fans who love Elton John will adore Kenny Metcalf, according to his musical bio. He is known for his full length shows, Elton the Early Years by Kenny Metcalf, which has played numerous high profile venues. 

“It’s not just the sequins and the big glasses; it’s not just the smiles,when Kenny sings he takes the audience to a real live Elton John performance,” cites Selak Entertainment. “This is a show that transports the crowd to the early career of Elton John’s music. The hits sound magical and perfect from “Benny and the Jets” to “Rocket Man” to “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.”

Kenny Metcalf is an experienced studio engineer, musician, singer, and song writer. In the 1980’s he toured with the rock group, Stryper, using his talents as their stage keyboardist. Over the years, Kenny Metcalf as Elton John has played in large venues, theaters, concert halls and arenas. Audiences cheer and dance and sing along during every show. Every detail of Elton John’s stage shows from his early years are carefully recreated. The costumes, the backup singers, the musicians, and the performances all bring the concert experience to life. Sunday’s one hour show should be nothing short of great fun for the whole family to celebrate mom.

Sunday’s event begins at 4 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m. The Steven Young Amphitheater is located at 4346 Town Center Boulevard in El Dorado Hills. El Dorado Hills Town Center offers many choices to choose from when it comes to dining and shopping, which could make for a perfect day for Mom. The venue even has a weekly Farmer’s Market on Sunday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and much more.   Sunday’s event caps off a big weekend of music in El Dorado Hills, following the sold out Heart of the Hills Blues Festival presented by the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce at the nearby Overland District thoughout the day on Saturday.
