Supporters of Italian heritage, local history and cultural preservation will gather in Historic Folsom next month for a special fundraising dinner aimed at helping bring the proposed Folsom Murer House Learning Center to life.
The event, presented by Claudia Cummings, is scheduled for June 25 at 6 p.m. at Bacchus House Wine Bar & Bistro, located at 1004 E. Bidwell St. in Folsom. Organizers say the evening will combine elegant dining, community fellowship, raffles and a silent auction, all benefiting the future learning center project connected to the Historic Murer House Foundation.
According to event organizers, the fundraising campaign is centered around preserving Italian culture and history in the Folsom community while planning for future educational opportunities through the proposed learning center. Promotional materials for the event describe the project as “Building a Sustainable Future,” while keeping the architectural integrity and historic character of the Murer House intact.
Foundation supporters are encouraging community members to take part in the effort, which organizers say is designed to create a lasting legacy for future generations. The campaign will also include a bronze donor plaque recognizing significant contributors to the building fund.
“This is your opportunity to leave a legacy in your family’s name,” organizers stated in promotional materials for the event. “This is our time to make history. Our time to leave a positive contribution to the preservation of Italian culture and the Folsom community.”
The Historic Murer House and Gardens has long served as one of the region’s best-known Italian cultural landmarks. Operated by the Historic Murer House Foundation, the property hosts educational programs, cultural celebrations and community events throughout the year while preserving the legacy of Giuseppe “Joe” Murer and the region’s Italian heritage.
