Duane Patton, Finesse, FBI Band, Los Cochinos and Valdes & Rolando bring three days of live music to Historic Folsom
Motown grooves, Latin rock rhythms, Bruno Mars dance hits and blues-driven guitar work are all set to take over Historic Folsom this weekend as Powerhouse Pub rolls out another packed three-day lineup of live entertainment. From old-school soul and R&B classics to high-energy tribute productions and Sunday afternoon blues, the venue once again delivers a wide-ranging weekend built around nonstop music and nightlife.
Friday, May 15 begins with the TGIF Early Show featuring FBI Band at 6:30 p.m., bringing audiences a nostalgic journey through some of the most recognizable soul, Motown and R&B songs ever recorded. Spending time with the FBI Band is described as “like spending time with old friends,” and that feeling carries throughout a setlist featuring music from Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, The Supremes, The Temptations, The Staple Singers and many more.
Built around timeless grooves and familiar harmonies, the band’s performance blends feel-good nostalgia with dance-floor energy, creating an atmosphere designed to ease crowds into the weekend while celebrating the music that defined generations.
Friday night then shifts into a full-scale Motown and R&B party as Duane Patton takes the stage at 10 p.m. alongside his band, Patton Leatha. Known for blending Motown-era favorites, R&B, old-school hits and current Top 40 music into one seamless show, Patton delivers a versatile performance that moves effortlessly between smooth slow jams and high-energy dance tracks.

Patton’s musical roots trace back to the Bay Area music scene, where he signed with CBS Records at age 11 alongside the Together Band and performed at the CBS Convention Showcase with artists including Earth, Wind & Fire, Barbra Streisand and Journey. He later worked under CBS producer Henry Crosby, known for producing The Jackson 5’s ABC album, and received early encouragement from music industry icon Clive Davis.
Over the years, Patton continued building his music career through HDH Records, founded by legendary Motown songwriting trio Holland-Dozier-Holland, where he worked as an artist, songwriter and producer. Among his notable accomplishments, Patton earned a platinum album credit as one of the vocalists on Too Short’s Short Dog In The House, contributing to the track The Ghetto.
In recent years, Patton Leatha has performed at major casino venues across the country, including MGM Grand, Caesars Palace, Graton Resort & Casino, Cache Creek Casino Resort and Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Their live performances are known for combining professionalism, musicianship and nonstop crowd energy, turning every show into a dance-driven experience that keeps audiences moving well into the night.
Saturday, May 16 begins with the Saturday Afternoon Dance Party featuring Los Cochinos at 3 p.m., bringing a fusion of Latin rock and soul to the Powerhouse stage. Frequently described by fans as carrying the torch passed down from legendary acts like Santana, the band blends Latin rhythms with rock, soul and jazz influences into a sound that is both energetic and unmistakably unique.

Drawing inspiration from groups including Santana, El Chicano, War and Tower of Power, Los Cochinos has built a strong following across California and beyond while sharing stages with acts like Malo and Ozomatli. Led by songwriter and guitarist Alfonso Portillo, the group features an accomplished lineup of veteran musicians, including keyboardist Donald “The Professor” Osborne, saxophonist Ric Alexander, percussionist and vocalist John Marin and a deep rhythm section rooted in Latin percussion traditions.
Their performances are built around infectious rhythms, soaring instrumentation and crowd interaction, creating an afternoon show designed to keep audiences dancing while showcasing the rich blend of Latin rock and soul that has defined the band’s sound for years.
Saturday night then turns into a full-scale dance party as Finesse – The Bruno Mars Tribute Show takes over at 10 p.m. Performed by Adam Aldama & The Aces, the production recreates the sound, style and nonstop energy that have made Bruno Mars one of pop music’s biggest stars.

Featuring hits like Uptown Funk, Locked Out of Heaven, 24K Magic, Treasure and Versace On The Floor, the show blends sharp choreography, tight harmonies and funk-driven rhythms into a performance designed to capture the exact feel of a Bruno Mars concert. Known for their themed productions and polished stage presence, Adam Aldama & The Aces channel the retro-pop energy and dance-heavy atmosphere that define Mars’ live performances.
Combined with Powerhouse’s giant LED dance floor, multiple bars and DJ-driven nightlife atmosphere, the Saturday night performance is expected to transform the venue into one of the region’s busiest party destinations of the weekend.
The weekend concludes Sunday, May 17 with the Powerhouse of Blues series featuring Valdes & Rolando at 3 p.m. Blending rock and blues with a Latin flavor, the group delivers a guitar-driven set packed with music from artists like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Santana and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Led by Johnny Valdes and Derek Rolando, both respected Northern California musicians with extensive performing and recording experience, the band combines technical musicianship with high-energy delivery. Supported by drummer Dave Hawkes and bassist Clint Day, the quartet creates a dynamic live sound rooted in improvisation, blues tradition and rock intensity.
From Motown and R&B to Latin rock, dance-pop tribute performances and blues-infused guitar showcases, the weekend lineup once again highlights the variety that continues to make Powerhouse Pub one of Folsom’s favorite entertainment spots in the city’s Historic District.
Located at 614 Sutter Street in the heart of Historic Folsom, the venue features multiple bars, a giant LED dance floor, VIP areas and a multi-room layout that keeps crowds moving from daytime sets into late-night nightlife experiences.
