Hotel enters final stages to welcome guests June 11

After years of planning, construction and anticipation, the new AC Hotel by Marriott at Folsom’s Palladio is preparing to officially open its doors just as summer arrives, adding the city’s first hotel directly inside the city’s premier shopping and entertainment venue

Now in its final stages at 510 Palladio Parkway with crews completing finishing touches throughout the property, the new hotel is scheduled to open June 10 and will officially welcome staying guests beginning June 11, according to a press release from Insignia Hospitality Group and the Marriot reservation platform

The five-story hotel becomes the first and only lodging destination located directly within the Palladio shopping and entertainment center, bringing a major hospitality addition to one of Folsom’s busiest retail, dining and entertainment corridors.

Owned and operated by Insignia Hospitality Group as a franchise of Marriott International, the project was first announced in 2022 and officially broke ground in late 2024 as the largest expansion to the Palladio since the center first opened in 2010.

Located on approximately 1.5 acres that previously served as parking near Dave & Buster’s, the hotel rises at the corner of Broadstone Parkway and Palladio Parkway.

The 130-room property is 85,000 square foot in size. It includes eight executive suites and has approximately 900 square feet of available meeting space. The overall facility was designed to complement the Palladio’s established European-inspired architecture.

The layout features an L-shaped design with outdoor patio areas, while the hotel itself includes a lobby and lounge, breakfast area, fitness center and meeting spaces aimed at both business and leisure travelers.

The project replaces 218 parking spaces in the northwest portion of the center while adding 29 newly designated spaces to accommodate hotel guests and operations.

City officials and project representatives have long described the development as part of the Palladio’s original long-term master plan, with the hotel envisioned years ago as a centerpiece addition to complement the district’s shopping, dining and entertainment offerings.

During a major construction “topping celebration” held last summer, community leaders gathered alongside developers and Choose Folsom representatives to celebrate the project reaching its structural milestone. At the event, former Mayor Sarah Aquino noted the AC Hotel would become Folsom’s ninth hotel while helping strengthen the city’s growing tourism and hospitality economy.

Insignia Hospitality President Darpan Bhakta also shared a personal connection to the community during the celebration, explaining his wife attended the original Folsom High School and that the company had explored opportunities in Folsom for years before bringing the project to reality.

Bhakta also emphasized that the Folsom hotel was intentionally designed with custom elements and local artistic influence rather than simply duplicating a standardized national prototype.

The Folsom property becomes just the second AC Hotel operating in the greater Sacramento region, joining the brand’s downtown Sacramento location. The AC Hotels brand originated in Spain in 1999 before later becoming part of the Marriott portfolio and expanding internationally.

According to company officials, the brand focuses on modern European-inspired design, minimalist aesthetics and intentionally curated guest experiences. Its food and beverage program follows that philosophy through European-inspired breakfast, lounge and bar offerings designed around social connection and upscale simplicity.

City officials have also highlighted the broader economic impact the project is expected to bring through tourism activity, restaurant and retail support, and additional transient occupancy tax revenue that supports city services.
