Officers responded just before 4 p.m. to the outlet center after a business employee reported being robbed. Police said the suspect allegedly assaulted the employee and threatened to shoot them before fleeing the area toward Folsom Boulevard in a white SUV.

Within about 10 minutes, responding officers located the vehicle near Folsom Boulevard and Hazel Avenue in Rancho Cordova. The suspect was initially noncompliant with lawful commands and began walking away from the vehicle before officers safely detained him.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of all items reported stolen from the business, along with additional suspected stolen clothing and high-end footwear. The total value of the recovered merchandise was $2,647, police said.

During the investigation, officers determined the suspect was also involved in two prior theft cases in Folsom, including a March 12 incident with a reported loss of $560.31 and an April 9 incident with a reported loss of $1,965.99. Items connected to those cases were also recovered.
