Final 2026 Placerville appearance for Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Cars headlines four-division racing program
Placerville Speedway hosts a four-division racing program this Saturday as the Prospector’s Pursuit brings the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Cars back to the El Dorado County Fairgrounds for their final appearance of the 2026 season.
Joining the Wingless Tour on the card will be the Kings Meats Ltd. Late Models, Red Hawk Resort + Casino Pure Stocks and the Nor-Cal Dwarf Car Association.
Fans attending Saturday’s event can take advantage of $6 Kings Meats cheeseburgers, along with discounted Coors Light and Coors Banquet beer during Happy Hour from 4 to 6 p.m.
The event marks the final race before Placerville Speedway pauses for its annual one-week break during the El Dorado County Fair. Racing resumes immediately after the fair with $5 Thompson’s Fan Appreciation Night on June 27, followed by the annual Freedom Fireworks event on July 4.
The Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Tour presented by Transport Products Unlimited last competed at Placerville Speedway in March, when Marysville driver Josh Young captured the victory over Jacob Tuttle and Heath Holdsclaw.
Anthony Bruno enters Saturday’s race as the Wingless Tour points leader and will be looking to add another victory to his season. Matthew Kaiser, Josh Wooten, Carson Hawkins and Tuttle round out the top five in the championship standings.
The Kings Meats Ltd. Late Models make their fourth appearance of the season this weekend. Defending series champion Rod Oliver has recorded one victory and currently leads the standings by 14 points over Anthony Slaney heading into Prospector’s Pursuit.
The Red Hawk Resort + Casino Pure Stocks have delivered some of the season’s most competitive racing. Seven-time Placerville Speedway champion Nick Baldwin has won four of six races this season and carries a 25-point advantage over Kevin Jinkerson in the standings.
Completing the program will be the Nor-Cal Dwarf Car Association. The division most recently competed during the Davy Thomas Memorial, where local driver Shawn Whitney claimed the victory over Mike Grenert and Ben Wiesz.
Grandstand seating for Saturday’s event will be general admission, excluding reserved seats designated for season ticket holders.
Adult admission is $20. Seniors ages 62 and older, military members and juniors ages 12-17 are $18. Children ages 6-11 are $8, while children 5 and younger are admitted free.
The pit gate opens at noon and the front gate opens at 4 p.m. Cars will take to the track at 5:15 p.m. for hot laps, followed by ADCO Driveline qualifying and racing action. Hirst Home Team Happy Hour will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the grandstands and features live music along with discounted beverages in the Cold Zone.
Placerville Speedway is located at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Drive in Placerville.
