There are plenty of reasons to raise a glass in October, but one of Folsom’s biggest celebrations of wine is making the case that the best one may simply be the person standing beside you. Great wine, after all, has a way of being even better when there’s someone there to share it with.
That’s the spirit behind this year’s Foothill Food & Wine Festival, returning to Palladio on Saturday, Oct. 24, with more than 40 Sierra Foothill wineries, delicious bites, live entertainment and an afternoon built around enjoying it all together. The crew at Choose Folsom, which is presenting the event, is leaning into a fitting theme for this year’s celebration: “Better Together.”
Whether it’s a date with a significant other, an afternoon with a best friend or simply a chance to reconnect with someone over a good glass of wine, the idea is to make a day of it together. With dozens of wineries gathered in one place, there will be plenty to taste and plenty to talk about along the way.
More than 40 Sierra Foothill wineries are expected to pour during the festival, giving guests a chance to sample wines from across the region and perhaps discover a few new favorites. Returning festivalgoers can also revisit wineries and wines they’ve enjoyed in years past without having to spend the day traveling from tasting room to tasting room.
There will be plenty to pair with those pours as well. Participating culinary partners will serve bites throughout the festival, while live entertainment will provide the soundtrack as guests mingle, taste and make their way through the afternoon at Palladio.
Bringing the wineries together in Folsom also offers guests an easy way to get a broader taste of the Sierra Foothill wine scene in a single afternoon. Instead of mapping out a trip through the foothills, festivalgoers can explore dozens of wineries in one place, moving from one pour to the next at their own pace.
And in keeping with the “Better Together” theme, Choose Folsom is offering a couples ticket package for $110 that admits two guests. Admission includes access to the participating wineries, culinary offerings and live entertainment, making it an option for a date, a day out with a friend or simply an excuse to spend an October afternoon together.
For those who have made the Foothill Food & Wine Festival part of their fall plans before, this year offers another chance to return to familiar favorites while finding something new. For first-timers, it’s an opportunity to get acquainted with a sizable collection of Sierra Foothill wineries without ever leaving Folsom.
The Foothill Food & Wine Festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, at Palladio in Folsom. The festival is for guests ages 21 and older, and couples tickets are $110 for two guests.
