As concerns over mail theft continue to surface across the region, the City of Rancho Cordova is inviting residents to take part in an upcoming community meeting focused on prevention, awareness and practical solutions.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Rancho Cordova Police Department, located at 2897 Kilgore Road.
City officials say the meeting is being held in response to growing interest and questions from residents who want to better understand how to protect themselves from mail theft and reduce their risk. Officials emphasized that the meeting is not tied to any specific incident, but rather is part of a proactive effort to keep the community informed.
During the session, the Rancho Cordova Police Department will provide an update on current mail theft trends affecting the area and outline steps the city and law enforcement are taking to address the issue. Attendees will also receive practical tips on safeguarding their mail, identifying suspicious activity and taking preventative measures at home.
In addition to local law enforcement, a representative from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is expected to attend, offering insight into federal investigations, enforcement efforts and additional strategies residents can use to help prevent mail theft.
Mail theft remains a concern for communities throughout the Sacramento region, particularly as criminals increasingly target residential mailboxes for financial and personal information. Officials say staying informed and taking simple precautions can significantly reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim.
