Friday night acoustic style series will entertain at the family friendly Apex Entertainment venue
Building on the success of its weekly live music performances at the Stage Bar inside the casino, Red Hawk Resort Casino is expanding its entertainment lineup with a brand-new acoustic series called Apex Unplugged, bringing live music to The Apex entertainment center every Friday night.
The new Apex Unplugged series launches March 6 and will feature a rotating lineup of solo and duo performers from across the Northern California music scene. Performances will take place weekly from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the all-ages entertainment venue, creating a relaxed acoustic setting that complements the high-energy atmosphere of the 85,000-square-foot facility.
The addition reflects Red Hawk’s continued effort to expand entertainment offerings throughout the resort beyond the casino floor. With Apex Unplugged, guests can enjoy live music while exploring the wide range of attractions inside The Apex, making it a destination for both families and music fans.
The series opens March 6 with Sacramento blues favorite Matt Rainey. Rainey is a two-time winner of the Sacramento Area Music Awards for Blues Band of the Year and was a quarterfinalist in the 2018 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. Known for blending traditional blues with a psychedelic jam band style, Rainey fuses soulful blues, rock, Americana and improvisational jam elements into his performances.

Throughout his career he has opened for notable jam band artists including Melvin Seals of the Jerry Garcia Band, John Kadlecik of Furthur, Mark Karan of RatDog, Keller Williams and the band moe. Whether performing with a full band or in a solo setting, Rainey is known for delivering an engaging and dynamic live show.
On March 13, the lineup continues with The Tin Dears along with the musical duo Tony and Kat Ebster. Tony Ebster’s musical journey began more than three decades ago when he first picked up a guitar and learned by playing along with Metallica and Def Leppard cassette tapes.

Over time he expanded his skills to bass and drums, performing with numerous bands across Northern California. Ebster has played with Sacramento-based country band Branded and appeared at venues including Red Hawk Casino, Goldfields, the California State Fair and several county fairs.
Kat Ebster brings more than 20 years of vocal performance experience. Her voice has often drawn comparisons to a blend of Janis Joplin, Susan Tedeschi and Stevie Nicks. She has performed with several Northern California bands including KatTrick and the Merry Mac Band and now performs alongside her husband, bringing their shared passion for music to audiences throughout the region.
The series continues March 20 with multi-instrumentalist Jayson Angove, a performer well known throughout the California music scene. Angove’s acoustic performances combine guitar, vocals and loop pedal techniques that layer multiple sounds in real time. The result is a full, orchestral-style experience created entirely by a single performer, offering audiences a unique and immersive live music performance.

Closing out the inaugural month on March 27 is Sacramento guitarist Art Padilla. Padilla has been mastering the guitar since age 11 and performing professionally since 1999. His musical range spans pop-punk, metal, pop, rock and country, and his career has earned him several accolades including recognition from the Sacramento Area Music Awards and the WCS International Songwriting Competition for his original song “Baby You Are Something.” Padilla has also performed at the NAMM Show and participated in the Tech Awards honoring Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac.
