Rock, dance, cabaret and blues fill another big weekend at Folsom Powerhouse

Another Brick, Superbad, Party of Five, Heart Strings Cabaret, Mixtape Marathon and Rick Estrin & The Nightcats headline three days of live entertainment in Historic Folsom

From an immersive Pink Floyd-inspired concert experience and high-energy dance favorites to an evening of burlesque entertainment and one of the most acclaimed blues bands in America, another diverse weekend of live entertainment is set to fill Historic Folsom as Powerhouse Pub presents three days of music and entertainment spanning multiple genres. 

This weekend’s lineup offers something for virtually every audience, beginning Friday with Sacramento’s acclaimed Pink Floyd tribute Another Brick before shifting into a dance party with Superbad. Saturday keeps the momentum going with Party of Five, the return of the Heart Strings Cabaret and Mixtape Marathon, while Sunday closes with an award-winning blues performance from Rick Estrin & The Nightcats.

Friday, July 17 begins with the TGIF Early Show featuring Another Brick at 6:30 p.m.

More than simply performing Pink Floyd songs, Another Brick has earned a reputation throughout Northern California for recreating the complete concert experience that made one of rock’s most influential bands legendary. Their performances combine faithful musicianship, immersive lighting and atmospheric production into a show designed to capture the emotion and grandeur of Pink Floyd’s iconic live performances. 

Drawing heavily from landmark albums including The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall, the Sacramento-based band presents the music as a continuous journey rather than a collection of individual songs. The performance flows much like Pink Floyd’s own concerts, moving seamlessly between atmospheric moments and soaring musical climaxes. 

Fans can expect many of the band’s best-known classics, including “Shine On You Crazy Diamond,” “Time,” “Money,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Comfortably Numb” and the unmistakable “Another Brick in the Wall.” Every detail—from the guitar tones and ambient keyboards to vocal harmonies and visual effects—is carefully crafted to recreate the depth and emotion that defined Pink Floyd’s unmistakable sound. 

Friday night then shifts into full dance-party mode as Superbad takes over the stage at 10 p.m.

A longtime favorite throughout Northern California, Superbad has built its reputation on energetic performances that blend the biggest dance hits from the 1970s, ’80s, ’90s and today into one nonstop party. Led by charismatic frontman Henry Lange, the band has become known for engaging audiences from the moment they hit the stage while constantly updating their setlist to keep every performance fresh.

Whether playing funk, pop, rock, R&B or today’s chart-topping favorites, Superbad delivers the kind of high-energy performance that consistently fills dance floors throughout California.

Saturday, July 18 begins with the Saturday Afternoon Dance Party featuring Party of Five at 3 p.m.

Although founded in 2025, the group draws upon decades of combined professional performing experience. Built around the motto “Get Your Party Started,” Party of Five specializes in energetic performances, polished musicianship and crowd interaction that creates a fun, welcoming atmosphere from the opening song through the final encore. 

Saturday evening offers something entirely different as Heart Strings Cabaret returns to Powerhouse beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Hosted by Jean Heart and DJ Rigatony, the bi-monthly adults-only burlesque and variety show combines music, comedy, burlesque and specialty performances featuring entertainers from throughout the Sacramento region. Filled with glamour, glitter and vintage cabaret flair, the production has become one of the venue’s most unique recurring entertainment offerings. 

Later Saturday night, Mixtape Marathon takes over the main stage at 10 p.m.

Known for creating unforgettable party atmospheres, Mixtape Marathon blends dance music from multiple decades into one high-energy performance. Their wide-ranging musical catalog, polished stage show and commitment to keeping audiences dancing have made the band a favorite for clubs, weddings, festivals and special events throughout Northern California. 

The weekend concludes Sunday, July 19 with one of the biggest Powerhouse of Blues performances of the summer as Rick Estrin & The Nightcats perform beginning at 3 p.m.

Widely regarded as one of today’s premier blues acts, Rick Estrin & The Nightcats recently captured both the 2025 Blues Music Award and the Living Blues Critics’ Award for Band of the Year. Their latest Alligator Records release, The Hits Keep Coming, has earned widespread praise for combining traditional blues with rockabilly, jazz, swing and modern songwriting. 

Estrin’s remarkable career stretches back to San Francisco’s vibrant blues scene, where he first immersed himself in the music before performing with blues legends including Muddy Waters, Lowell Fulson and Jimmy Rogers. He later co-founded Little Charlie & The Nightcats before forming his current band, earning multiple Blues Music Awards and establishing himself as one of the world’s most respected harmonica players, songwriters and showmen. 

Joined by acclaimed guitarist and producer Kid Andersen, keyboardist Lorenzo Farrell and drummer Derrick “D’Mar” Martin, The Nightcats have become internationally recognized for their exceptional musicianship, inventive songwriting and unforgettable live performances. Critics from Blues Music Magazine, DownBeat, Forbes and No Depression have consistently praised the band’s originality and dynamic stage presence.
