Rogue gets Friday started before a packed Saturday brings a Bob Marley tribute, cabaret and a return to the ’90s; Carmen Ratti Band featuring Jill Dineen brings the blues Sunday
One weekend, a lot of different sounds. Powerhouse Pub is packing its Historic Folsom stages again this Friday through Sunday, with a lineup that moves from straight-ahead rock and reggae to ’90s nostalgia, funk, cabaret and a Sunday blues finale.
The weekend gets underway Friday, Sept. 4, with Rogue opening the evening during the TGIF Early Show before Powerhouse shifts into late-night mode with Blackout Fridays. Saturday, Sept. 5, is especially busy, beginning with Sol Horizon’s tribute to Bob Marley in the afternoon, followed by the Heart Strings Cabaret Burlesque Variety Show and Adam Aldama & The Aces turning back the clock with “Now That’s What I Call 90’s.”
Then on Sunday, Sept. 6, the focus turns to the blues when the Carmen Ratti Band featuring Jill Dineen takes over Powerhouse of Blues, bringing a growing résumé and new music to the Sutter Street stage.
Friday starts at 6:30 p.m. when Rogue takes over the TGIF Early Show.

The veteran rock band brings plenty of experience to the stage, having shared bills with major names including Bad Company, David Lee Roth and Tesla. Rogue has built its live shows around guitar-driven rock and the kind of familiar, energetic sound that fits naturally into Powerhouse’s early Friday format.
The band’s history also includes a brush with television, with one of its original songs featured on Discovery Channel’s “Monster Garage.”
At 10 p.m., Friday takes a different direction with Blackout Fridays. The late-night event trades the live rock format for three DJs, drink specials and Big Rob’s Hookah Cabana, with dancing carrying the night after Rogue finishes the early show.
Saturday brings Bob Marley favorites and a trip back to the ’90s
Saturday’s lineup begins at 3 p.m. with Sol Horizon’s Bob Marley Tribute as part of the Saturday Afternoon Dance Party.
The Sonoma County-based band has spent more than two decades in the Northern California reggae scene, building a following through both its original music and its celebration of Marley’s catalog.
Sol Horizon has collected multiple North Bay honors for its reggae performances, while its Marley tribute has grown into one of the band’s signature shows. For the tribute, the group expands its lineup to create a fuller sound that draws from the layered instrumentation and vocals associated with Marley and The Wailers.

The result goes beyond simply stringing together Marley’s biggest hits. The band mixes familiar favorites with deeper selections from his catalog, giving longtime reggae fans plenty to recognize while introducing some of the music that may not receive the same radio play as “Three Little Birds,” “One Love,” “Is This Love” and “Could You Be Loved.”
It’s a fitting afternoon soundtrack for Powerhouse’s Saturday dance party before the venue makes another major shift in style later in the day.
At 7:30 p.m., the Heart Strings Cabaret Burlesque Variety Show brings live burlesque, cabaret and variety entertainment to the stage, providing a theatrical bridge between Saturday afternoon’s reggae and the late-night music ahead.
Then at 10 p.m., Adam Aldama & The Aces return with another of their themed productions, “Now That’s What I Call 90’s.”
Aldama and The Aces have become familiar to Powerhouse audiences through an expanding collection of tribute and theme shows. Their productions have included 2Bad: The Michael Jackson Tribute, Red Corvettes celebrating Prince, Finesse featuring the music of Bruno Mars and Y2K Live.

This time, they are heading deeper into the decade that came before Y2K.
“Now That’s What I Call 90’s” isn’t built around one artist or one corner of the music world. Instead, the show draws from a decade that produced everything from alternative rock and grunge to pop, R&B, hip-hop and dance-floor hits.
That makes for a Saturday lineup with few musical boundaries. The afternoon starts with the music of Bob Marley, early evening moves into cabaret and burlesque, and the night finishes with a live trip through the soundtrack of the 1990s.
Award-winning blues band takes over Sunday
Sunday’s Powerhouse of Blues brings the weekend home with a Northern California band whose profile has continued to grow beyond the regional blues circuit.
The Carmen Ratti Band featuring Jill Dineen takes the stage at 3 p.m., bringing a combination of blues, soul and guitar-driven music along with material from the group’s latest recording.
At the center of the band are two distinctly different musical strengths. Ratti brings the guitar work while Dineen supplies the soul-rooted vocals, backed by a group that can lean into traditional blues without being confined by it.
The band earned a significant boost in 2023 when it won the Golden Gate Blues Society’s International Blues Challenge competition, helping open the door to a wider audience and more opportunities beyond its Northern California base.
The group has since continued to build its résumé, including recording at Greaseland Studios, the San Jose-area studio founded by producer and guitarist Kid Andersen that has become closely associated with contemporary blues artists.
More recently, the Carmen Ratti Band signed with MoMojo Records and released its second album, “Come to Me,” in 2026. That gives Sunday’s Powerhouse appearance a fresh dimension, with new material now joining the songs and sound that have helped the band establish itself on the blues circuit.

Ratti and Dineen’s musical partnership gives the group much of its identity. His guitar work can push the music from traditional blues into a harder-driving groove, while her vocals bring elements of blues and soul to the forefront. Together, they give the band room to move rather than staying locked into one interpretation of the genre.
Sunday’s appearance continues a long-running Powerhouse tradition as well. The Powerhouse of Blues series has regularly brought touring veterans, regional standouts and award-winning performers to Historic Folsom for Sunday afternoon shows, giving blues fans a daytime destination at the end of the weekend.
The Carmen Ratti Band featuring Jill Dineen performs from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
