A celebration of one of music’s most beloved voices is set to take the stage this Friday night as Ronstadt Revival featuring Shannon Rae brings a powerful tribute to Linda Ronstadt to the Harris Center.
Presented by EMG Entertainment, the performance will take place Friday at 7:30 p.m., offering local audiences a chance to relive the songs and stories that defined a career spanning more than five decades.
Linda Ronstadt’s influence on popular music is undeniable, with a voice that crossed genres and generations, leaving a lasting imprint on rock, country, pop and beyond. From her early days with The Stone Poneys in the late 1960s to her chart-topping success throughout the 1970s and into the New Wave era of the 1980s, Ronstadt built a catalog that continues to resonate with fans around the world.
Ronstadt Revival, led by Shannon Rae, brings that catalog to life with a full seven-piece band designed to recreate the authentic sound that made Ronstadt a household name. Featuring instrumentation such as fiddle and pedal steel, the group delivers what it describes as real, raw and 100 percent live music, capturing the spirit and energy of Ronstadt’s original recordings and performances.
Adding to the authenticity of the performance is frontwoman Shannon Rae, a Southern California native whose musical roots are deeply tied to the very artist she now honors on stage. Raised on the sounds of the Eagles, Tom Petty and, of course, Linda Ronstadt, Rae’s connection to the music runs deep. In fact, she often shares that the very first album she ever purchased with her own money was Ronstadt’s greatest hits — a record she says she played so often it nearly wore out.
Beyond her role in Ronstadt Revival, Rae is an accomplished original artist and songwriter in her own right, having released three albums, including her self-titled debut, her sophomore release Lucky 13, and her third project fittingly titled #3. She spent five years touring with her band Shannon Rae and 100 Proof, building a reputation on stages across the country and sharing the spotlight with a wide range of artists.
Her touring resume includes performances alongside modern country rock acts such as A Thousand Horses, Eli Young Band and Runaway June, as well as legendary performers including Wynonna Judd, The Marshall Tucker Band and Roy Clark. Those experiences have helped shape the commanding stage presence she now brings to every Ronstadt Revival performance.
