Second annual festival to feature K-pop competition, Korean cuisine, taekwondo demonstrations and family-friendly cultural experiences
The sights, sounds and flavors of Korea will take over Rancho Cordova this Saturday as the 2026 Sacramento Valley Korean Culture Festival returns with a full day of live entertainment, authentic cuisine, cultural traditions and interactive family fun.
Set for Saturday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the festival will transform the KP Market parking lot at 10971 Olson Drive into a vibrant celebration of Korean heritage and modern Korean culture. Hosted by the Sacramento Korean Association and co-organized with KP International Market, the event also serves as the Lee Ha Jun Memorial Tribute 2026 and a fundraiser supporting expanded community service efforts throughout the region.
Organizers are promising “a special day where tradition meets modernity,” and this year’s festival lineup is designed to do exactly that with an energetic blend of traditional Korean performances, modern K-pop entertainment, food experiences and hands-on activities for all ages.

One of the major attractions throughout the day will be the festival’s K-performance showcase, featuring live taekwondo demonstrations, samul nori percussion performances, traditional Korean fan dancing and live band entertainment. Samul nori, known for its fast-paced drumming and rhythmic energy, remains one of Korea’s most visually and musically captivating traditional performance arts and is expected to be one of the highlights of the event.
Modern Korean pop culture will also take center stage with a K-pop competition featuring dance and music performances inspired by the global Korean entertainment phenomenon that has exploded in popularity over the past decade. Contestants will compete for first-, second- and third-place honors along with prizes and gifts awarded throughout the competition.
Food lovers will find no shortage of authentic flavors during the festival as vendors serve a variety of Korean snacks, street foods and traditional dishes. Festival organizers are encouraging visitors to come hungry as the event will showcase both classic Korean comfort foods and modern favorites popularized by Korean food culture worldwide.
Beyond the stage and food vendors, the festival is packed with interactive activities designed to immerse visitors in Korean culture. Guests will be able to participate in traditional games including Gonggi Nori, a popular Korean hand game similar to jacks, Too Ho, a traditional arrow tossing game, and Jegi Chagi, a Korean kicking game often compared to hacky sack. Organizers are also planning Korean-themed “Squid Games” inspired activities expected to draw strong participation from younger attendees.
Visitors will also have opportunities to experience traditional Korean clothing through Hanbok activities and photo opportunities, while additional art stations and Korean flag painting activities will offer family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.
The festival marketplace is expected to feature community vendors, cultural organizations and specialty booths showcasing Korean products, crafts and services. Organizers had previously opened a call for booth spaces leading up to the event as interest in participation continued to grow.

Sponsored in part by the City of Rancho Cordova, the annual celebration continues to expand as one of the Sacramento region’s largest Korean cultural events, bringing together residents from across the region for a day centered on community connection, cultural appreciation and entertainment.
Festival organizers said they hope the event will continue building awareness and appreciation for Korean culture throughout the Sacramento Valley while creating an inclusive experience welcoming people of all backgrounds.
Admission to the event is free. The festival takes place Saturday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at KP Market, located at 10971 Olson Drive in Rancho Cordova.
