Overnight work and lane closures expected through March 29 as crews address pipe damage
Emergency road repairs are underway at the intersection of Sibley Street and Glenn Drive, where crews are working to fix a damaged section of underground pipe and the surrounding pavement identified earlier this week.
Construction on the project began Saturday and is scheduled to continue through March 29, with overnight work planned from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for the remainder of the repairs.
The work is expected to impact traffic in the area, with lane closures and delays likely as crews complete the necessary improvements. Motorists traveling through the intersection are advised to use caution and allow extra time for travel.
City officials have not indicated any additional closures beyond the current work zone but encourage drivers to remain alert for changing traffic conditions during overnight operations.
Additional road work to know: Bidwell Street drainage improvements underway
In a separate project impacting traffic across the city, drainage improvements are now underway along Bidwell Street and are expected to continue through May 8, weather permitting.
The work, which began March 23, will install a new storm drain system along Bidwell Street, connecting to existing infrastructure at Wool Street and Decatur Street.
Motorists and nearby residents should expect lane closures, flagging operations, and parking restrictions along Bidwell Street between Wool Street and Decatur Street, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained during construction.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible as work continues over the coming weeks.
