The permitted utility work begins Thursday, Sept. 17, along Greenback Lane, with the most significant traffic impacts expected near the busy intersection with Folsom Boulevard.

Throughout the project, traffic may periodically be reduced to a single through lane on portions of both westbound and eastbound Greenback Lane. Northbound Folsom Boulevard may also be reduced to one through lane near the intersection at various times while crews are working.

The project will include both daytime and nighttime work. Daytime construction is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while nighttime work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Message boards were placed in the area earlier this week to alert motorists to the upcoming work and traffic changes.

The City of Folsom is advising drivers to allow additional travel time when passing through the area and to use caution around construction crews and changing lane configurations.

The work is expected to continue for approximately six weeks, potentially keeping intermittent traffic restrictions in place through late October.
