Based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg, the production plunges audiences into Bikini Bottom as the community faces total destruction from an impending volcanic eruption. With lives hanging in the balance and hope slipping away, SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends must come together in an unlikely race against time, where an unexpected hero emerges and the power of optimism proves it can truly save the world.

The stage adaptation features a book by Kyle Jarrow and a dynamic, genre-spanning score crafted by an array of world-renowned artists, including Sara Bareilles, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Panic! At the Disco, They Might Be Giants and more. The result is a high-energy musical that blends humor, heart and spectacle into a production designed to resonate with audiences of all ages.

Under the direction and choreography of Debbie Wilson, with vocal direction by Scott Rivers, the production is brought to life by a seasoned creative team that also includes costume designer Karen McConnell and producer Zoi Jones. Together, the team transforms the stage into a vivid, imaginative version of Bikini Bottom while showcasing one of the largest and most diverse casts in recent local theater.

Leading the production is Lucas Blanco in the title role of SpongeBob SquarePants, anchoring the show with boundless energy and unwavering optimism as he rises to meet the greatest challenge his world has ever faced. Alongside him, Nathaniel Miller delivers both humor and heart as Patrick Star, SpongeBob’s loyal best friend, while Emelyn Serrano brings strength, intelligence and determination to the role of Sandy Cheeks.

Paul Madsen adds sharp comedic contrast as Squidward Q. Tentacles, capturing the character’s signature frustration and dry wit, while Nathan Diamond takes on Eugene Krabs with a bold, larger-than-life presence. Jacob Rummel steps into the role of Sheldon Plankton, the scheming antagonist whose ambitions help drive the story’s conflict, with Becca Frear portraying Karen the Computer, his clever and ever-observant partner.

The world of Bikini Bottom continues to expand with Alex Armstrong as Pearl Krabs, Emma Acosta as the Mayor navigating a community in crisis, and Jacob Blanz as Perch Perkins, the news reporter chronicling the unfolding events. Landon Kelly appears as Patchy the Pirate, adding a familiar and playful connection for longtime fans, while Zoe Tribble portrays Mrs. Puff, SpongeBob’s perpetually overwhelmed instructor. Hatcher Cockrell energizes the stage as Larry the Lobster, and Mason Moebius rounds out the featured roles as Old Man Jenkins.
