One of the region’s most in-demand live acts is set to deliver a full weekend of high-energy performances across Folsom and El Dorado Hills, as Superbad the Band returns to the stage with back-to-back shows and a community appearance tied to one of the region’s signature spring events.
Superbad will kick off the weekend Friday, April 17, at Out of Bounds Craft Kitchen and Biergarten in Folsom, where the band takes the stage from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for a family-friendly night of live music. The venue, known for its lively atmosphere and indoor-outdoor setting, will host the group as they bring their signature blend of funk, soul, pop and dance hits to audiences of all ages.
The momentum continues Saturday, April 18, when the band heads to El Dorado Saloon and Grill in El Dorado Hills for a late-night performance from 9 p.m. to midnight. With a reputation for packed dance floors and high-energy crowds, the Saturday show is expected to deliver a full-scale party atmosphere as the band returns to one of its familiar regional stages.
Superbad returns to headline the weekend with their signature high-energy blend of funk, soul, and timeless grooves. Known for commanding any stage they step on—from private events to sold-out outdoor festivals—the group continues to raise the bar for live entertainment, and local fans are in for a night to remember.
Led by frontman Henry Lange, a towering six-foot-six performer known for his charisma and crowd engagement, Superbad has built a following across California through its interactive shows and feel-good musical approach. Lange’s presence at center stage drives each performance, blending humor, spontaneity and nonstop energy that keeps audiences engaged from start to finish.
The band’s versatility remains one of its defining strengths. Drawing from a wide-ranging catalog that spans the 1970s through today, Superbad seamlessly moves between funk classics, soul staples, pop hits and modern dance favorites. Their ability to adapt arrangements and incorporate contemporary sounds has helped them stay relevant while honoring the timeless appeal of their repertoire.
Backing Lange is a tight-knit group of accomplished musicians, including Cris Snyder on bass and vocals, Dawson Nichols on drums, and guitarist Evan McKee. Together, they create a full, layered sound that extends far beyond a traditional four-piece band. Through the use of digital sequencing and live arrangement techniques, the group is able to recreate horn sections and orchestral elements in real time, giving their performances a dynamic, full-scale production feel.
That sound has translated into strong regional demand. In recent weeks alone, Superbad has drawn capacity crowds at major outdoor concert series including Folsom’s Summer of Music at City Lions Park and El Dorado Hills’ Live on the Boulevard. The band has also performed at prominent venues such as Thunder Valley Casino, Cache Creek Casino Resort and The Fox Theatre in Redwood City, along with corporate events for major companies.
Sunday craft fair appearance adds community connection
The weekend continues Sunday, April 19, as members of the band take part in Folsom’s Spring Arts and Crafts Fair in the Historic District along Sutter Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. While not a formal concert performance, the appearance reflects the group’s strong ties to the local community.
The annual spring event features more than 200 artisan vendors, live entertainment, food trucks and family-friendly activities throughout the day, drawing thousands to the historic corridor each year. Superbad’s presence adds a local music connection to the festivities, with band members expected to mingle, support fellow vendors and take part in the lively atmosphere that marks the unofficial kickoff to the spring season in Folsom.
With three days of visibility across two cities and one of the region’s largest seasonal events, Superbad’s weekend run underscores both their popularity and their versatility—delivering everything from early evening family entertainment to late-night dance-floor energy and community engagement in between.
